Late Comeback Cut Short

Baltimore, MD (AP)-- On opening day and the spirit of baseball in the air, Cleveland rolled into Baltimore for battle. The Indians struck first with sound hitting, but the game was quickly tied up at 1-1 to end the 1st inning. C.C. Sabathia had a terrible outting. He was rocked, giving up homerun after homerun. C.C. lasted only 4 innings and long reliever Fausto Carmona came in for the 5th inning. It was a huge difference as Carmona pitched the rest of the game and only gave up 1 run to give Cleveland a chance for a comeback.

Despite a late rally and having the top of the order up to start the 9th, down 2 runs, the Indians could only manage 1 hit and fell short of the comeback. The Indians will now travel to Kansas City as Jake Westbrook (0-0) will face off against Luke Hudson (0-0).
