Re: IGN Top 15 Firstbasemen
Wow i never realized how many great 1st basemen there are..
ONe big problem i see on that list is Morneau being ranked around 14, he won AL MVP and he isnt even in the top 10 first basemen in the league? Also thought Giambi was a bit underrated but im a Yankees fan so i probably overrate him |

Re: IGN Top 15 Firstbasemen
The reason Morneau was not ranked higher, is because he had a great year 2 years ago, and an average year the year after that. They need to see more consitency, and he is a little overated, theres no way he deserved mvp, unless they went the same way with nl, where winning/clutch count. Pujols deserves the 100. I think Giambi is very overated, he doesn't hit for average anymore. He hit like what 258 or 260 last year, no way he should be in top 15, he has been average at best the past 2 years.

Re: IGN Top 15 Firstbasemen
Morneau should be sixth at worst. No team in the league would take Delgado or Helton ahead of Morneau, all things being equal. Same goes for Derrek Lee. To have Nomar ahead of Morneau is just offensive.
I'd probably put the top 8: Pujols Ortiz Howard Morneau Hafner Lee Berkman Konerko And where's Richie Sexson? Someone's going to take Frank Thomas ahead of Richie Sexson as their first baseman? Give me a break. Last edited by SheriffBooth : 02-26-2007 at 12:16 PM. |
