[360] - I can't believe they overlooked this..

IRL you see the catcher take off his mask to catch fly balls

In 2k7 they still have their mask on, when you are throwing to 2nd, the catcher rips off their mask, in 2k7 they don't at all.

This animation i feel has been overlooked for way too long

most catchers don't take the mask off when throwing to second since it would take too long. it usually flies off though. but i'll agree on the pop ups.

I noticed this last night too.

My thought is, they caught pretty nearly every other small detail, I guess you can't catch them all.

Re: I can't believe they overlooked this..

Another thing...when a pop-up is hit right over the plate it has backspin, therefore the catcher has to turn his back to the infield to make the play(i.e. the ball will spin towards you rather than away). While this is not vital, just another point to look at. I think if the catcher (or any fielder for that matter) is not positioned correctly to make a play, their fielding pct. should suffer drastically. Positioning is everything in baseball.

It is a little nit picky, but I see your point. If this is the only problem with the game, then I think we are good to go.

Re: I can't believe they overlooked this..

I agree. That is the fun part of playing sports games. I played college baseball and understand the fundamentals of fielding, specifically pop-ups behind home plate. The catcher to turn his back to the infield is baseball 101 and you would expect to see it in any baseball game.

I had rain on a day that had zero clouds. Again, not a huge issue but takes away from the immersion of the game.

Overall, this game is solid but there are a few bugs that should have been worked out before it shipped.

I pray that they release a roster update.
