MLB 2K6 vs MLB "The Show"
Alright i'm looking into getting one or the other and seeing as EA isn't making a professional game i'm forced to try something new this year. I'm really not sure which game to purchase as i can't get a very good feel from the reviews i'm read so i figure asking what everyone likes and dislikes about the two might shine some light onto my situation.
Hopefully you all will be able to help me with my situation. Thanks for the help. |

Well i know 989 sports has been horrible at making sports games but i figure i might as well get an idea of how they are looking now. I'd like to think they have been improving. I usually wouldn't even consider getting a 989 sports game but without EA in the mix i'm looking at all my options. So i really could use some insight as to which game is better overall. I know each game has some specific things to offer and i want to make the best selection i can.

The Show is a must get IMO. The game is awesome and is MUCH better than 2k6. 2K6 is really weak. 989's game is finally making a challenge to be the best baseball game around, and most people think it is.

I just got 2k6 and it takes a while to get used to. But it is a good game i never played mvp or the show so i can't say which is better. But the word is the show has the new st.louis park were 2k does not but the xbox360 verison does have it. the roster are more upto date on the show. Why this is who knows. But 2k does have wbc which is cool but they dont have any rules that apply to wbc like (pitchcount or 10run rule) but still it cool and they do have the format round robin style. Rent them and try them out.

As much as i'd love to rent them, the price of renting is far too much for me to waste on a rental. I'd rather take a chance on a game than spend an extra 16$ to rent both games. From what people have said so far it seems that The Show is the better game this year which supports the reviews. Both games seem to have their strong points as well as their faults. From what i've read in the reviews the errors in 2k6 sound like they would bother me more so than in The Show but i really can't say for sure as i've yet to play either.

If you have a PS2, I dont even think there is any debate on it. The Show is the consensus better game.
