I think you are assuming he walks like Sheffield did. But I see Tex as Schuerholz lining up a star bat to file the power hole left when Chipper hangs it up, which can't be far off. My guess is they lock Tex down for a long term deal pretty quickly after the trade.

Teixeira's one of my favorite player and one of the best long term hitting stars in all of baseball. And if he has a second half like he did last year, he gives us an improved shot a pennant this season too.

I don't mind losing Saltalmacchia, since he didn't really have a position and his greatest value was trade bait. Andrus was a great infield prospect, but so were Betemit and Marte and look where they are now - Tex is a sure thing.

We'll see, though. I like to see the Braves making deals for great bats, though.
