My First Fantasy Baseball League
So I joined a fantasy baseball league today and my draft is tomorrow at 2:30 EST. Ive been reading rankings, busts/sleepers etc, but havent seen any mock drafts. Anyone know where I can find one? This is my first league, so I dont really have an idea of whos worth the #1 pick and stuff like that.
Also, if you guys have any advice for me please share. Thanks lots. __________________ ![]() |

ESPN FLB 2007: Welcome to ESPN Fantasy Baseball!
Over on the right there's a blue box titled "Tools." Check out the 2007 FLB Draft Kit if you have ESPN Insider. Also you can go to the Mock Draft Lobby and do some Mock Drafts for yourself. There's some other good links in that Tools box too. __________________ ![]() |

Rule #1: Pujols > All
Looking at different mock drafts should be sufficient enough; look at a few and get a few expert opinions. |

Re: My First Fantasy Baseball League
So if I get the first pick it goes to Pujols. Is he as automatic as LT?

Re: My First Fantasy Baseball League
Pujols 1
Reyes 1b is it a rotisserie league, points only, or head to head? You need to find out and do your draft accordingly. Rotisserie means you want a team that contributes in all stat categories than are being used. So dont just draft Ryan Howard, Frank Thomas, Adam Dunn etc, because you will only get HR points, but nothing else. You need some guys who hit HRs, some guys who get RBI, some guys who get steals etc. If it is points only/head to head, you still want to vary your roster... Guys who hit 40 HRs get alot less points than someone who steals 20 bases and hits 20 HRs... Dont go for "steals" early on. If you think a guy has the potential to be as good as another 3rd round player, dont take him in the 3rd round, take him at the last possible moment, otherwise it may be a bust. Usually closers are a lot more valuable than starters, and strikeout pitchers are more valuable than ground ball guys. Try and take 1 solid starter in the first 2/3 rounds.... someone like Roy Halladay, Zambrano etc... Then just wait it out and get some strikeout guys later... And dont pick people just cos they ar eon your favorite team... ummm.... thats all i can think of right now... __________________ Toronto Raptors: 32-26 Toronto Maple Leafs: suck again Baltimore Ravens: Troy Smith = Future? Re: My First Fantasy Baseball League
Its head to head, and I will probably end up doing that with Russel Martin. Its not like hes a scrub so it all works out.

Re: My First Fantasy Baseball League
Pujols is definately as money as LT in football. He's gotta be your #1. After that I agree, Reyes is where you go. I was able to get him at #3 in my draft so I was pretty stoked.
IMO, always take hitters over pitchers. There are so many variables with pitchers every year. They're more likely to get hurt and you can usually get really good value with pitchers that may fall a little deeper in the rotation. So if you get stuck between a pitcher and hitter that you feel are almost equals, I'd go with the hitter. You just get more consistency and usually know what you're getting with hitters. But on that ESPN page, they also have rankings and projections that you'd probably be interested in as well. __________________ ![]() |

Re: My First Fantasy Baseball League
Thats a nice team i think you should have took sizemore in the 2nd round but good draft. Nice job getting bill hall that late.
Id take Reyes with a #1 pick. But i would take Pujols, then immidietly trade him for Reyes to get a better deal... |
