Mark Buerhle No Hitter
Faced 27, walked Sosa but picked him off.

Re: Mark Buerhle No Hitter
Buerhle's had his struggles from last year's second half collapse, to getting hit below the elbow by a baseball in his first outing of the season this year, however tonight he was unstoppable. Hopefully this is an omen of what's to come.

Re: Mark Buerhle No Hitter
eh that shouldnt count if he walked batter... but officially a walk is not a hit.

Re: Mark Buerhle No Hitter
Finally something that warrants an avatar change.
Although he had his struggles, namely the 2nd half of last year, this was amazing. He has good, but not overpowering stuff, as shown by his 7K's tonight. |

Re: Mark Buerhle No Hitter
man i was disappointed because john maine had a no hitter into the 7th (mets are never gunna get a no hitter) and then Cabrera broke it up. Then i turn on espn news and i saw this lol, thats rare to have two no hitters for 7+ innings.

Re: Mark Buerhle No Hitter
Incorrect my fellow baseball enthusiast, a walk as you clearly stated, doesn’t not count as a hit. Thus, there is no reason for you to attempt to discredit his outstanding accomplishment. However, his walk did affect him from reaching the pinnacle in pitching excellence, a perfect game, in which a hit, walk, or hit batter is not surrendered.

Re: Mark Buerhle No Hitter
He looked very sharp and the defensive plays behind him were amazing too. The rob of a homerun was nice! Beurle had all his stuff working, good to see.

Never the less, pitching any sort of no-no is a remarkable feat. Congratulations to Mark Buerhle on an awesome performance.

Re: Mark Buerhle No Hitter
Tim Kurkjian said Buerhle didn't throw a pitch over 89 the entire game. That's amazing. Props to Buerhle representing the the finesse pitchers.
