AL MVP - Justin Morneau????

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2670876

Pretty crazy if you ask me. But he had a real good year - just not sure if it was an MVP year.

Sum salary of this year's MVP's - $740k.

Too bad FSU doesn't have him playing QB.

Yea, I am happy that Jeter didn't win...

But this is all about the MLB wanting to establish new stars to market. By naming these guys MVP, people will want to go to the games to watch them play. Everyone already comes to see Jeter and the Yankees, and Papi and the Red Sox. Sadly, the MVP voting has become a business as well.

I think it was Joe Maurer that got recruited by FSU

I was so happy to see ESPN crying over Jeter not winning

Re: AL MVP - Justin Morneau????

As much as I hate saying it...Jeter deserved to win MVP.

If you look at the "value"/"production" numbers Jeter was tops. He led the AL in both win shares and runs created. Although he certainly wasn't the league's best hitter (Hafner owned AL pitching until he get hurt) he generated the most runs, and created the most wins for his team.
