Newman wins Gatorade Duel Race 1



Daytona Beach, FLA - Ryan Newman, passed Jimmie Johnson with two laps to go in Race 1 of the Gatorade Duel, to win the event and push his position to start in the Daytona 500, from 20th to 3rd.
"The car ran really well, I am very excited for Sunday to come," said Newman.

Earnhardt Jr. wins second Duel



Daytona Beach, FLA - Earnhardt Jr. once again dominated Daytona, as he lead all the laps in the second Gatorade Duel race. It came down to the wire as AJ Allmendinger, Michael McDowell, made the Daytona 500 starting lineup.

Martin gets last lap push past Stewart to win first race

Daytona Beach, FL - Well, Matt Martin has done what his father Mark, could not achieve. Win the Daytona 500.
He passed Tony Stewart on the final lap and crossed the finish line victorious. Stewart was angry at the end of the race saying Martin bumped him out of the way, but Martin stated it was an accident. Stewart crossed the finish line 3rd while spinning out of control. David Stremme finished second, and Earnhardt Jr. and Brian Vickers finished fourth and fifth respectively. There were only two cautins in the race. The first one was on lap 78, when Kasey Kahne spun Kenny Wallace out into the infield. Wallace summersalted in the air four times. The other caution was on lape 172, when Paul Menard's engine went out.

nice job so far, i've had intentions of starting a nascar driver superstar thing, but i have to get nascar 09 first, and i don't plan to get that until i get ncaa football 09 and madden 09.
