Game 1 @ 0-0 0-0 Key Matchup Paul Pierce vs Chris Paul ![]() The Celtics kick off 2006 against The New Orleans Hornets. The Celtics expect this to be a tight game, in which either team could come out on top. Will the Celtics beat the Hornets, or will the Hornets sting the Celtics... Lets find out. First Quarter This was a low scoring, but exciting half. Both teams had their fair share of great plays but it seemed like the Celtics had the Hornet's number in this one for the better half of the quarter. Szczerbiak netted one quick to start off the scoring, followed by Pierce to make it 4-0 early in the first. Later, Pierce scored again making it 6-2. Pierce was ontop of his game aproaching the end of the quarter, sinking two more. Chris Paul scored one for the Hornets in the last minute of the quarter. Celtics 18-17 Hornets Second Quarter Paul scored a 3-Pointer fairly early in the second, taking the lead 20-17. Just moments after Pierce answered with a baskey of his own to pull within one. Stojakovic scored, followed by David West to make it 25-24 for the Celtics. Later on Delonte West scored his fourth of the games to make it 32-29 for the Celtics. At the end of the quarter Pierce scored his 7th of the quarter. Celtics 49-38 Hornets Halftime Update Paul Pierce leading points so far with 22 points and a 10-14 FG. Chris Paul has 12 points. The game has been close all the way through so far, with both Celtics and Hornets ontop for awhile. As we pull into halftime Celtics break that close game, taking an 11 point lead, 49-38. Is this a sign of whats going to come throughout the season? Third Quarter To kick off the quarter Delonte West got a basket to take the 51-38 lead. A little bit later in the quarter Jefferson scored to make it a 57-46 game. Then Mason scored twice in a row to make it 57-50. Quickly followed by another goal for The Celtics by West. A bit later David West scored for the Hornets again to make it 59-56. West scored his 6th in the closing minutes to make it 71-60. Celtics 71-62 Hornets Fourth Quarter Brian Scalabrine scored to open scoring in the fourth to make it 72-62. A little while before midway through the Fourth, Chris Paul scored to make it 82-80. Paul scored again to tie it up 82-82. It seemed the Hornets were taking control with play after play, but couldn't seem to score. Then West stole it from Chandler and made his way down for a dunk, making it 84-82. Late in the fourth Allen scored, making it 92-87. At the end of the game, Celtics Captain Paul Pierce took one more shot to take the win. Final = Celtics 94-87 Hornets Player of The Game ![]() Delonte West of the Boston Celtics is awarded Player of The Game, with 32 Points, 13-41 FG, 13 Steals and a Double-Double. Celtics improve to 1-0, putting the Hornets to 0-1 in the opener. Note: There will be a press confrence with Pierce and West, feel free to give questions. |

Sweet game. I really like the quarter-by-quarter breakdowns. How much will Delonte West's play affect the team's success? Keep it up, great job so far!

Game Two @![]() Detroit: 1-0 Boston: 1-0 Key Matchup Delonte West vs Chauncey Billups ![]() ![]() Both Detroit and Boston head into this game with a 1-0 record. You just have to wonder though, what teams deserves the 2-0? Both teams have a great offense, Boston prevailed against New Orleans with Delonte West and Paul Pierce stepping up their game, while Detroit has Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince. Who will advance to 2-0, who will fall behind to 1-1? Find out.. Next! First Quarter Tayshaun Prince opens up scoring today, after Detroit won the opening toss. Not long after though, Szczerbiak got the basket that tied the game 2 a peice. Nazr Mohammed got nothing but net on his try to take the lead for the Pistons, 4-2. Hamilton got the ball after Celtics captain Paul Pierce failed to score for the tie, and fed Billups the ball, who scored quick after receiving the ball. Later on West netted his fifth in a row for his team, to make it 15-13, finally cracking Detroits lead, and making one of their own. Tayshaun Prince wrecked the fun scoring for the 15-15 tie. Pierce wasted little time getting his Celtics back into the 17-15 lead. Telfair got his second of the night to end the first. Pistons 26-25 Celtics Second Quarter Chauncey Billups scored a 3-Pointer for the first goal of the second quarter, making it 29-25. Celtics didn't seem up to par in the second. Gomes scored his second of the quarter to bring the Celtics within nine points of a tie, 38-29. Delfino scored twice in a row making it 38-27, with some amazing plays by the Pistons to feed Delfino. Billups scored again later to make it 44-36. West made his first second quarter appearance just before that last goal, and showed it was a good idea to put him back in, to get Boston another goal, 44-38. Hamilton and Billups both scored one after the other making it 48-38 Delonte West would score twice more in a row after that, to make it 48-42. West scored Boston's last goal of the quarter to make it 57-48. Chauncey Billups scored twice in a row to end the Second. Pistons 62-48 Celtics Halftime Update The Celtics have alot of catching up to do, if they want a chance of winning this game. They are already losing by 14 points. This was an extremely high scoring first half, with but one team dominating, and thats, you guessed it. The Detroit Pistons. Key Match-up Update Chauncey Billups - 18 Points - 4-9 FG Delonte West - 23 Points - 10-17 FG Third Quarter No doubt about it, the third was the most exciting quarter we've seen all night! Prince scored the first goal making it 64-48. Ratliff scored the Celtic's first goal of the third, 64-50. When Boston's coach decided to play Telfair, he looked like a genius. Telfair was the go-to-guy in Boston's situation. He scored three times in a row to make it 69-56, and setting up Szczerbiak's goal soon after, to make it 69-58. Telfair would go on to score four more times in a row to make it 69-66. Amazing right? Yes! Then Chauncey Billups spoiled Telfair's scoring streak, making an outstanding 3-Point shot, taking Detroit to a 72-66 lead. Perkins and Gomes both scored in a row for the Celtic's, to take them within 2 points. Szczerbiak knew from the start of the play he was going to make a difference, and he was right. Szczerbiak took the Celtics up by 1, yet another amazing Celtic moment. Boston would go on to take the lead three more times, but Billup was there to bring them down to size two times of the three. Celtics 83-80 Pistons Fourth Quarter Just when it seemed like the game had settled down after an amazing quarter, surprise-surprise, here comes Delonte West to increase the lead to five. The Pistons fought back, as Hunter scored his fourth of the night, and Billups scored once again. Then, once again the Celtic's Delonte West netted another, to take the lead by 2. Just then, Dale Davis netted the tieing goal for Detroit. Paul Who? Ohhh Paul Pierce! Is what the fans must have been saying as he scored for the first time since the first quarter. Richard Hamilton scored again though to give the Pistons a one point lead 88-87. Later on West would score to tie it 90-90. Is Boston still on the court? Is another question Celtics fans were asking themselves, as Detroit would go on to take the 99-90 lead, with no sign of defensive skills from Boston. Oh, well apparently they were still on the court, and so was one of their top dogs, West, who scored to make it 99-92. Later Telfair would score three in a row making it 113-101 for the Pistons. Murray scored to take the lead 115-101. Pistons 123 - 106 Celtics - Final Player of The Game ![]() Sebastian Telfair Although the Celtics lost to Detroit, Telfair definatley played his part for Boston. Telfair had an outstanding third quarter, something that will go down in the history books. Sebastian Telfair - 37 Points - 12 Steals - 16-32 FG - Double-Double Key Match-up Update Delonte West - 29 Points - 3 Steals - 12-15 FG Chauncey Billups - 32 Points - 1 Steal - 13-20 FG Celtics are now 1-1 *Note: I still need more questions for Pierce + West press confrence and next game will most likely be all-star difficulty because the third quarter was TOO easy to score in lol.
