Hey, I'm Anthony Herring. I am about two weeks away from being drafted into the NBA and I am excited. I am the number one player going into the draft and the Charlotte Bobcats have the number 1 selection. I played college ball at North Carloina and we made the national championship but lost to Tennessee 80-76. I left college after my freshman year and decided to enter the draft because my family needs the money. My step fathers father is in the hospital and can't afford the best treatment he can get, so getting drafted would really help that matter. Plus, it has always been a dream of mine to be in the NBA. I know that I am going to the Charlotte Bobcats but at the same time i am not sure.

Today, I was in Charlotte working out with the Bobcats. Coach Larry Brown has taught me so much! I did shootaround for about 20 minutes and played 1 on 1 with the greatest of all-time -- Michael Jordan. It was fun, but he still holds the label of GREATEST OF ALL TIME. After the Charlotte workouts, I had an interview on Jime Rome is burning. He's a real funny guy! After that I went home and eat dinner than went to bed, and that was my day. I'll keep posting real soon!

Today, I had a workout with the Sacremento Kings who have the second selection in this years draft. The Kings have a really nice facility, and has good food there. Sacremento isn't that bad of a city either. I went to lunch with the owner Robin E. Hernreich and the GM Geoff Petrie.

Potential First Pick charged with alchohol offense

Chapel Hill, NC - North Carolina shooting guard Anthony Herring was charged Friday with driving after consuming alcohol following an early morning traffic stop. Herring was stopped in downtown Chapel Hill because of the loud music coming from the car, said Chapel Hill Police Capt. Fred Carner. The car smelled of alcohol and a field sobriety test led the officer to file charges, he said. Because Herring is not 21, he could be charged with driving after consuming alcohol. He was also charged with violating the city's noise ordinance and driving with a suspended or revoked license, police has said. He was later taken into custody and released. Herring is scheduled to appear in court July 10. Neither Herring nor coach Roy Williams will comment until the legal process runs its course, a school spokesman said in a statement. He was one of four North Carolina players who declared for the 2008 NBA draft. Herring has not hired an agent, meaning he could return to school for his sophomore season. Herring attended the NBA pre-draft workouts last week in Florida with teammates Jure Medina and Kay Mitchell. On Wednesday, he worked out for the Charlotte Bobcats. Herring helped the Tar Heels reach the National Championship, where they lost to the Tennessee Volunteers.
