[ALL] - We'll miss you 2k9, EA is making a monopoly!
Im really getting frustrated with all of this elimination of competition by EA in the sports games genre. First it was Madden overcoming NFL 2K, now they have bought the NCAA Hoops rights (and still have NCAA Football). Wouldnt this be considered a monopoly? If someone wants to play a college hoops game, NFL game, or college football game, they HAVE to play EA's games. Consumers dont have a choice. We have to play the crap that EA puts out or play nothing, which really isnt fair. The only way we can stop this is to NOT buy EA games. EA is getting way to big for the industry and is simply buying up all of its competitors. I have really enjoyed all of the College Hoops games on 360 and I will NEVER buy a March Madness game. I hope others will do the same because the only way to hurt EA is through its wallet. As was said earlier on here, lets all get together in the fall and edit the game to make new rosters for this game. That might be more fun anyways

Re: We'll miss you 2k9, EA is making a monopoly!
You can stop them it's very easy. I don't by EA games, I rent them through Gamefly. Technically speaking, I'm not paying EA ****. I've worked in that company for a couple of years and was part of Tiger Woods, Sims2 and became a GM for Ultima Online. I can almost promise you my life, the whole goal is to take over the gaming industry. We had one meeting I will never forget. Manager and senior of QA simply put it this way. "If I took a **** in a box and labeled it Madden, the consumer would buy it." This is when all the crap started to happen with EA buying rights and nobody in the company was happy about it. Go fig, EA employees pissed because most of them played 2K. The only reason why people were lined up at the EA Experience is because we were able to purchase console games for $20 and PC $10.
IMHO, **** EA. I would do anything I could to destroy that company and renting through gamefly is the best way. Or just chip your mod and don't buy EA titles. |

Let me start by saying I agree EA is quickly becoming bad for sports gaming.. But Freddie dude I have to respond to you're argument that by renting from gamefly you are technically not giving your money to EA and therefore are doing your part to help, "Hit them where it hurts".
That is the stupidest line of reasoning I've ever heard... Do you REALLY think gamefly doesn't use the money you are paying them to rent the game from them to then turn around and buy copies of EA's games? Come on dude, pull the wool off your own eyes.. EA is getting your money one way or the other. I mean you can justify it to yourself that way if you want, by saying since you aren't buying the game directly you personally aren't giving them your money. But no matter what way you slice it, ultimately EA is getting your dead prezzies... they've just been laundered through gamefly. Not to mention that if a title that gamefly rents such as say... Madden... is turning well (meaning renting frequently)... Does it not stand to reason that they would then buy MORE copies of it? I mean I could be reaching here, but I am pretty sure gamefly is in the business of renting games, in rder to turn a profit... Bottom line is bottom line the ONLY, and I do mean the ONLY way you, or I, or anyone for that matter is going to hurt EA is to STOP buying, renting, and playing their products all together PERIOD... |

EA basketball games r so much better thats the truth 2K basketball games making the players look fat shaq loks like a whale in the game. The shot stick in the game sucks bad U cant do any moves like spins and stuff u can do on nba live. the only thing that was good on 2k that they took out was the fast break button where your guy would pas t the farthest dude down court da$t was straight but they took that out EA is so much better
