DETROIT BASKETBALL!:A Detroit Pistons Franchise

The goal of the Detroit Pistons this year is simple WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP! Last year they fell short in the Eastern Conference Finals losing in six games to the Caveliers after taking a 2-0 series lead. The year before that they also fell in the Conference Finals to the championship winning Heat and before that they came up short in the NBA Finals to the Spurs going for a repeat. As the roster is aging and falling apart a bit they want to get atleast one more championship together.

Eastern Conference Preveiw

It is a much tougher Eastern Conference this year with the new-look celtics, the defending conference champion Cavs, Bulls, Wizards, and dont forget about the Pistons. The Heat, Magic, Raptors, and Nets also look to make a run into the playoffs it has added much depth to the teams even though it is still lacking competition to the West it looks much stronger.

Western Conference Preveiw

Once again the West looks like a much stronger conference than the East. It has more power teams and its top three teams(Spurs, Mavs, Suns) are probably better than anybody in the East. The Nuggets, Rockets, and Lakers, and Jazz also look very good. After that there is alot of youth and inexperience. But the Western Conference is obviously much stronger than the Eastern.

Team Strengths and Weaknesses

The strength of the Pistons is easy to find, the experience and strenght of their starters. Most of these guys have been together since winning a Championship in '02, Billups Prince Hamilton and Wallace have all started together since that time.

The team weakness is also very obvious and it would be the bench and the inexperience with youngsters filling it up. Lindsey Hunter and Nazr Mohammed are the only guys who really have any experience. Stuckey Affalo and Samb are all rookies but look to get solid playing time as will everyone else.
