Re: DETROIT BASKETBALLLL! Detroit Pistons Chise
Detroit Press Conference Press Confernce with Coach Jones: ![]() Coach: Alright, I'm here to answer any questions about the team. Reporter #1: Coach, do you have any news about Rodney Stuckey and his injury? Coach: Yes I do. Rodney has a strained shoulder and will be out about 3 weeks. He will be in the lineup in about 2 and a half weeks but his play will be affected. Reporter #2: Coach J, your team played their hearts out tonight. But the bad thing is, is that you have a game tomorrow against Golden State. How is your team's energy? Coach: Well they are definitely fatigued after they blew the lead and then come back and win the game. It's tomorrow night and we should be a little tired. But, hey, we always are. Reporter #3: Coach, some players on the bench are complaining about playing time. How are you going to handle that? Coach: Well I have been aware of that and that should all be taken care of by the next game. Reporter #3: But, your next game is tomorrow. What are you going to do? Give them a speech or something? Coach: Nope. Trades, releases, and signings. I'm gonna make a good trade, a hard to do release, and look to the free agency pool for a player or two. Reporter #2: Your game is tomorrow night. How are you going to get all that in? It's about less than 24 hours. Coach: Well, I better get to work then, huh? (smile). Thanks for the conference guys. __________________ ![]() Done with dynasties/franchises until Christmas Last edited by YoungWonda : 06-03-2008 at 08:11 PM. |

Re: DETROIT BASKETBALLLL! Detroit Pistons Chise
NBA Fastbreak ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Stuart Scott: "This edition of NBA Fastbreak is brought to you by KIA Motors. Ok, guys, you saw that wild press conference with Coach Jones of the Detroit Pistons last night, what is that man doing?" Stephen A. Smith: "Well, I don't know. He said that he will make a good trade, make a 'hard ta-do' release, and go ta the free agency poo'. That man has no chance of doing all those before game time." Michael Wilbon: "I agree Stephen and if I look at the countdown clock to this game it's about 50 minutes until tip-off and we haven't heard one thing. I think he will do something but definitely not before game time." Stuart Scott: "Yeah, that guy has not spoken or said anything according to our sources to anyone. Not even his team. He.....(grab ear piece)....wait....what....oh guys, you won't believe this. He has made a trade....... released a player......and....hasn't quite come to terms with a free agent. If we look at the clock again...49 minutes." Stephen A. Smith: "I don't believe you. There's no way that man......" Stuart Scott: "Wait, here's all the details. They traded Arron Afflalo to the Golden State Warriors for a 2nd Round Pick. There's the trade. They released Ronald Dupree. There's the release. And he has offered a contract to Small Forward Jarvis Hayes. That's amazing." Michael Wilbon: "He is a great coach. He can get a lot of stuff done, as we have just seen. Win games, as we saw with the Wolverines and now the Pistons." Stuart Scott: "Well, we will go to commercial and we will be right back." __________________ ![]() Done with dynasties/franchises until Christmas Last edited by YoungWonda : 06-04-2008 at 01:02 PM. |

Re: DETROIT BASKETBALLLL! Detroit Pistons Chise
![]() A2 Ann Arbor (AP)- Detroit lost in a great game on Wednesday against the Warriors. They had a battle all game versus the previous 1-6 team. We have a whole recap on this overtime thriller. The 1st quarter was all back and forth. Detroit would score and then the Warriors would score. The high point man in the 1st was Chauncey Billups from Detroit and Arron Afflalo who recently got traded to the Warriors. They both had 10. The score going into the 2nd was 24-21 in Detroit's favor. The 2nd quarter is when Golden State had a few runs to get ahead. The Warriors outscored Detroit by 5 to take a 46-44 halftime lead. The 'Sprite Players At The Half' were Chauncey Billups for Detroit with 17 points, 1 rebound, and 7 steals. Baron Davis was the Warriors halftime star with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals. The 3rd Quarter was mainly all Golden State. They had a 12-4 run at one point. They ended up holding Detroit to 18 points and they got 22 points. Detroit looked out of it heading to the 4th trailing 62-68. Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson were the reason Golden State ended up winning. They combined for 77 of Golden States 113 points. A lot of which came in the 4th. The last 1:45 Detroit was trailing by 11! It was Chauncey Billups who kept Detroit in it until overtime. With about a minute to go, Detroit cut the lead to 6. Chauncey hit a big 3 pointer to cut it to a 3 point defecit. Billups got another steal, he had 13 in the game, but this one was big. On the fast break he passed to Alando Tucker and Tucker went up for the dunk. He made it, and got fouled. He made the "and one" and tied it at 89. Overtime was all Golden State. Detroit had way too much of Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson and that could have been the reason they lost. Golden State hangs on at home and wins 113-108 in overtime. For full stats see page "C4". C4

Re: DETROIT BASKETBALLLL! Detroit Pistons Chise
Detroit Press Conference Press Conference With: Richard Hamilton ![]() Rip: Alright, what are the questions ya'll have for me? Reporter #1: Rip, what are your thoughts on the recent roster changes that have been happening? Rip: Well, we traded Afflalo. That wasn't the best move. We released Dupree. He wasn't even active though. We tried to get Jarvis Hayes but our salary cap and all that won't let us. Now we offered Flip Murray for Rajon Rondo. I like those. Reporter #2: What are your thoughts on the amazing play from Chauncey Billups this season? Rip: Well, he is doing fabolous this year. The lowest he's scored in 8 games is 21 points. The most was 53! I think he had a mind-set that he wanted a championship this year and he is stepping up to get one. Reporter #2: Are you satisfied with your play this season? Rip: No but I'll get it going. Trust me. In fact, write this down, I predict I'll have AT LEAST 20 points against the Lakers. Mark those words. Reporter #3: I'm not sure if you know about this but how is Alando Tucker doing? Rip: Not very well (laugh). That finger is really hurting him. You guys didn't think it was serious but it is. (I forgot to put that in my post. Alando Tucker hurt his finger against the Warriors.) He will probably come on from the bench versus LA. He won't play long though. Reporter #4: Rip, do you have any guarantees coming into the postseason or this season? Rip: Yeah, I do. I predict that we will get into the playoffs. Reporter #4: Anything else? Rip: Nope, 'cause if we don't do what I predict, I don't want to look stupid. Press conference over. __________________ ![]() Done with dynasties/franchises until Christmas |

Re: DETROIT BASKETBALLLL! Detroit Pistons Chise
![]() The Lakers Participate In A High-Scoring Affair Did They Win? Los Angeles (AP)- The Lakers and Pistons combined for 196 points on the 16th. Who came out on top? Kobe Bryant was spectacular, as usual, scoring 42 points. Chauncey Billups scored the most for Detroit as he had 25. We didn't record all the stats so there is just a recap from what I can remember. The 1st quarter was Los Angeles at first. They were steadily growing a lead behind Bryants and Odoms 16 point combined. Billups showed why he was the NBA's Leading Stealer as he created a lot of Detroit's points. But he only had 2 in the first quarter. He had 3 assists. LA got up to a 8 point lead but Detroit went on a run to make the score 22-20 going into the second quarter with LA leading. The Pistons had way too much of Kobe. He had 8 first quarter points and 16 second quarter points. The Pistons were doing all they could to stay in it. Rip Hamilton and Chauncey Billups both had 8 points in the second. Alando Tucker, who has a finger injury, was affected in this game as he did not start. He did get a few quality points though. The "Sprite Players Of The Half" were Chauncey Billups and Kobe Bryant. Billups had 10 points, 4 assists, and 7 steals. Kobe had 24 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal just in the first half! The Lakers started to fall apart in the third quarter. The Piston starters played the first minute and then were out the rest of the quarter. Still the Pistons had a lead going into the fourth. A big reason for that was Ronald Murray. The Pistons just traded him to the Celtics for Rajon Rondo, but he went out on a good foot. He had a 3-pointer late in the third and 11 points total in the game. Kobe had 10 in the quarter. Detroit outscored LA 27-21 in the third and that would come back to haunt the Lakers. Coach Jones made a wise move leaving his bench out there the third because in the fourth, Detroits starters came up big. Billups came out and hit a three to give Detroit a 7 point lead. Rip scored only 6 in the fourth but they were important shots. Kobe Bryant got fouled out late in the fourth but not after scoring 18 in the quarter. Lamar Odom had a lot of quality shots as he racked up 22 points. Detroit outscored LA 27-21 again in the final quarter giving them a 103-93 win. (Sorry no stats for this game. I simmed past this day and forgot to write the stats down.) Here is all the stats I have wrote and what I can remember: Chauncey Billups: 25 pts. 4 ast. 13 stl. Rip Hamilton: 22 points Kobe Bryant: 42 points. 6 reb. 7 ast. 3 stl. 6 fouls. Lamar Odom: 22 points Ronald Murray: 11 points Yes, I traded Murray to Boston for Rondo. Tucker should be ready for nect game __________________ ![]() Done with dynasties/franchises until Christmas |
