Upcoming Community Day
I just wanted to make everyone aware that EA is putting on a Community Day for NBA Street: Homecourt on January 12th. This will be an opportunity to get an inside look and hands-on experience with the game, and have time to speak to the developers.
Those familiar with MaddenNation's previous trips to Community Days have an idea of what to expect...we'll do our best to provide detailed coverage of the event. This is an exciting opportunity as the Street offering appears to be shaping up really well. Also it will provide the first opportunity to see a game released at the same time on both the PS3 and the 360. As always, we would appreciate any suggestions or questions you would like touched upon, or different things to look for in the game. We can't guarantee that we'll be able to get to everything, but we'll do our best to extract as much info and impressions as possible. I'm going to give away a copy of NBA Live 07 on the PC to someone who contributes in this thread. It won't be random nor will it be based on who throws out the most questions/suggestions, but the person that will be chosen will simply have made a positive impact in my mind. I appreciate anything you guys would like add here and it'll go into consideration for the trip. |

Re: Upcoming Community Day
Are there plans to move away from the fictitious characters and instill some of the true legends of streetball as bosses? Takashi seemed to be based on Yao before his arrival to the league, and Stretch always felt like a Julius Erving clone. With all the amazing detail the next-gen consoles can create, implementing genuine historic players would add to the game's already authentic feel. Imagine playing Pee Wee Kirkland or Earl Manigault at Rucker.

Is this ran off the same engine as NBA LIVE?

Re: Upcoming Community Day
The main thing I would like to know about is the 3 on 3 online play. I heard you talk about it on the podcast so thats cool. This has alot of potential if done right.
Could you ask them if you can play ranked games with friends, or if its just random? I want to know this because I can already imagen ball hogs, quitters, ect. on your team. Also if mini games like 21 and 3 point shootouts are playable online. |

Re: Upcoming Community Day
I just wanted to add that I dont expect to be able to speak about the community day until January 19th (or some date around there). Just so that you guys know in advance that I have a NDA to uphold. Once that period passes I should have a lot to post about and also discuss on the podcast.

Re: Upcoming Community Day
So anything you guys drop for me here I'll be able to jot down and take in with me on Friday. I'll be at the studio tomorrow afternoon, but won't get to Street until Friday. I'll check back that morning to see if theres anything else you guys would like me to look into.

Re: Upcoming Community Day
Well as I mentioned before I'm not able to post about the game until the 19th. However I will say one thing. This game is quite possibly the coolest game...like...ever.
