Ok played 2 games finally online. I must say i'm really impressed with this game online. There was no LAG whatsoever on this xbox live version. NBA live is nearly unplayable, this is like the total opposite, it felt as if i was playing offline.

I was able to play with the Beastie Boys, NBA Legends, NBA Stars or any of the teams. When you challenge someone you make the game and the rules you want. You can play with NBA teams only, Created teams and set it dunks only, nba rules, street rules etc...

When you first sign online it says you need to create another baller to play online, so i'm guessing you cant use the one you have offline. It takes you through all the steps of created a baller, so I'm pretty sure you cant becasue I had my guy already made offline when I had to create this new one.

One thing that was interesting, and I'm not sure why its like this. But when I was sitting in the chicago room waiting for the opponent to show up, it said " press start to create a game" So i did then it says for me to pick all the rules, and make it private by invite only or public then it says "waiting for other players to join" Now i dont know what this means. I'm assuming this is for the "quick game' mode. But found it interesting its the same type of setup as if you wanted to make a match and have more than one person join. I mean EA has already said there was no online multiplayer. Were they lying to suprise us? I went in the manual and didnt see anything about online multiplayer. It just said play 3 on 3 matches with the best ballers around the world. The book isnt that detailed. Oh welll, just wishful thinking on my part

Overall i'm really surprised with online play. Very smooth on xbox, ps2 i'm not sure since i dont have that version. But those strattling the fence on what version to get may want to take a look at the xbox version. The controls are re-done and if its choppy on PS2 online then XBOX is the way to go. I should play some more games online tonight hopefully. I want to try the created ballers.

Now I would love to get a little comparison of ps2 online vs. xbox live. I wonder if this game is going to run that smooth online for ps2??

Will you guys be making a little comparison on here after you guys get some games online for the ps2??

i didnt get the ps2 version from EA. So i cant compare. RAC has the ps2 version if he plays im sure he can tell you if its smooth or not.

I haven't been able to find an opponent yet online. I have gotten on a few times today but no luck. I did get on and create my player and my home court but unfortunately that's all I was able to do.
