Re: Demo Impressions
Good stuff!
They have two months to work out some of the game play issues but it sounds promising to me. It sounds like EA did a great job on the college atmosphere and I'm sure tweaking the game can further enhance it. I've read some impressions and most of the stuff I read seems like sliders can help out alot but most guy's don't think that far ahead when they are playing these demo versions without those options available. I'm most excited about creating rosters for the old school teams in this game as current college players and rosters simply don't appeal to me anymore. |

Like I said in the blog, its a nice look at the potential this title has. I really love the idea of "Intensity Control". When it comes down to specific gameplay issues and such, I dont think its proper to judge this demo on those type of aspects. Im expecially excited to see what you can do with this game when you get your hands on it. |

Re: Demo Impressions
Well I normally don't play demo's of games but after the Cowboys big win today my cousin convinced me to try the demo out since he had played it already at one of his buddies house.
First off let me say one of the reason's why I hate the demo stuff is because this game took forver to download it seems........ But from what I experienced IMO you are correct the atmosphere is simply amazing. I've never really been a huge fan of mascots and things but they did look pretty damn realistic to me in the demo. The game definetly needs to be speeded up but I'm sure sliders or player speed adjustments can solve that with no problem. It didn't feel EA used the foot planting as much in the college game and I actually enjoy the foot planting in NBA Live 07. I would have prefered them to use the player composure stuff in a bar under the players feet or something instead of a + or - sign over the head. But if there is an option to turn it off and just check it another way then I'd have no complaints about it. I've always been a huge fan of the Press Camera view so hopefully EA didn't remove it from the game. I don't like baseline with any of EA's basketball games because I think that view hurts the gameplay as much as it helps it overall. The Over The Head view was ok but not my preference. Basically, the Press Camera is a must because that seems to be the camera that always makes EA's games run smoother for me. Obviously the game still needs work up until January. I saw some good things and I'd be very interested in seeing what ratings and sliders are included in the game. I'm not a huge Dick Vital fan either so I can see myself just playing this game with the annoucers turned off.............. The foul animations look pretty good and they could probably look even better by upping the On Ball Physical Defensive slider that I'm sure they will put in the game. It should enhance the contact fouls much better. The players definetly move better than they do in Live 07 right out of the box. But I think with further tweaking they can move even better. I know the Triple Threat Ratings in Live 07 helped a great deal with player movement but I'm not sure if that rating is included in this game. If it is that would be great because i think it could be used for this game even better than it is for Live 07. Overall I just accepted it as demo (an unfinished product) released two months before the actual game itself. I wasn't big on March Madness the past few years but this game has caught my attention again back to the series. Aslong as EA allows me the abilty to customize the game for all players and teams I think this game will warrant a purchase from me for the first time since probably March Madness 03/04 when I stopped playing the series. Re: Demo Impressions
Man, I downloaded this and played two games... then deleted it. I totally cannot play this game after playing 2K7 so much. The feel is totally off for a basketball game and nothing seems right as far as gameplay goes.
The atmosphere and some of the ideas they have (intensity, etc.) is all good, but damn, I can't play this game for more than half an hour without feeling like I need to take a shower and pop in 2K7. Sorry to be that guy (and this is only a demo), but if this demo is any indication, EA needs to just leave basketball games to 2K. __________________ ![]() Thanks to REVO for the sig! |

Re: Demo Impressions
All I can say is the passing is really screwed up. I liked how big the courts were and stuff though. Also I got a bad feeling EA will be gay, and just like last year with mvp 06 college baseball and ncaa football 07 no names online.
