Difficulty: Heisman Playbook: Texas Def. Playbook: 4-3 Next Game: North Texas Network: FSNSW Time: 11 am Corso: Texas Herbstreit: Texas The long awaited debut of Colt McCoy is here. We'll see mostly his strengths in this debut because the opponent is North Texas but we are still excited for the debut. Colt McCoy: " I am just happy that I can get out onto the field and throw against a different defense, I am tired of tearin' up our scout team. I wanna tear up the mean green!" 1st Quarter: Selvin Young 11 yard scamper into the endzone. Later on Michael Griffin with the interception. Jamaal Charles scores on the option from 14 yards out to cap off the drive. Colt McCoy with his first collegiate touchdown pass to Jermichal Finley from 37 yards out. 21-0 Texas 2nd Quarter: Jamaal Charles from 47 yards out. Colt McCoy to Selvin Young on a screen pass to score from 23 yards out. Tarrel Brown picks off Matt Phillips' pass and takes to the house from 66 yards out. North Texas fumbles the kickoff and Sergio Kindle picks it up and takes it in. Half time score: 49-0 Texas 3rd Quarter: Colt McCoy to Limas Sweed from 73 yards out. Henry Melton scores from one yard out. North Texas' Matt Phillips connects to Johnny Quinn from 43 yards out to put North Texas on the board. Jevan Snead scrambles and finds the endzone from seven yards out. 4th Quarter: Matt Phillips connects to Brandon Jackson for another North Texas touchdown. Final Score: 70-14 Texas Wins. Player of The Game: Jamaal Charles 17 carries, 114 yards, 2 touchdowns. |

Lee: Texas Corso:Texas 1st Quarter: Jamaal Charles 2 yard touchdown run completing an 80 yard opening drive. Colt McCoy 7 yard touchdown pass to Jermichael Finley completing a 57 yard drive. 14-0 Texas 2nd Quarter: Aaron Ross takes a Rice punt back 44 yards. Henry Melton caps off a 27 yard drive with a one yard touchdown run. Rice hits a field goal. 28-3 Texas 3rd Quarter: Jevan Snead 4 yard touchdown run. Rice intercepts Jevan snead pass and takes it to the house. 35-10 Texas 4th Quarter: Rice recovers a trick onside kick after the interception but is held to a field goal. Sherrod Harris scrambles for a 24 yard touchdown run to put the game out of reach. Final Score: 42-13 |

Sept.23 Iowa State Cyclones @ Texas
Corso: Texas Herbstreit: Texas 1st Quarter: Bret Meyer hits Todd Blythe in the corner of the endzone to surprise the Longhorns right out of the lockeroom. After an Iowa State interception Bret Meyer scrambles into the endzone; Longhorns are stunned. Bret Meyer keeps the option and takes it to the house from 57 yards out. 21-0 Iowa State 2nd Quarter: Colt McCoy finds Limas Sweed to put the Longhorns on the board. Bret Meyer fumbles the football and Michael Griffin picks it up and takes it to the house; Longhorns showing some life. Right before the half Bret Meyer finds Todd Blythe again to give them momentum going into the half. 28-14 Iowa State 3rd Quarter: Selvin Young takes the kickoff all the way back to open the half strong. After an Iowa State 3 and out Selvin Young again busts a big one witha 45 yard gallop down the sideline for the score to tie the game. Longhorns get the ball back and Jamaal Charles catches a pass in the flats from Colt McCoy and does the rest on his own dancing his way for a 32 yard touchdown. Aaron Ross picks a pass off and takes it to the house. 42-28 Longhorns 4th Quarter: After a Iowa State turnover on downs Henry Melton finishes off the drive witha one yard score. Selvin Young scores on a 22 yard run to put away Iowa State. Final Score: 56-28 Player of Game: Selvin Young 3 total touchdowns on 278 total yards. |

Our coaches are really looking forward to seeing some of the back ups in action. I just cannot wait for my first game against Oklahoma. I'm looking forward to the environment with the rivalry." 1st Quarter: Colt McCoy to Billy Pittman on the first play from scrimage, 80 yard touchdown catch. Jamaal Charles 3 yard touchdown run. Tarell Brown interception returned for a touchdown, 23 yard return. Greg Johnson 32 yard kick. Greg Johnson 45 yard field goal. 27-0 Texas 2nd Quarter: Henry Melton 2 yard touchdown run. Jevan Snead 22 yard touchdown throw to Limas Sweed. 41-0 Texas 3rd Quarter:Sherrod Harris 24 yard touchdown scramble. Greg Johnson 42 yard field goal. 51-0 4th Quarter: Sherrod Harris keeps the option and takes it to the house from 35 yards out. Bearkat field goal puts them on the board. Texas answers with a long 12 play 89 yard drive capped off by a Henry Melton one yard touchdown run. Final Score: 65-3 Player of Game: Sherrod Harris with 155 yards rushing and 43 yards passing with two rushing touchdowns. Mack Brown after the game said,"I was very impressed with Sherrod Harris our back up quarterback. I think I saw some glimpses of Vince Young. Don't be surprised if we get him some snaps against OU, he is a gamebreaker." Next up: OKLAHOMA |

This decision has been made over the coarse of the week. We beleive we have an offensive gameplan that cannot be stopped." 1st Quarter: Greg Johnson 33 yard field goal. Paul Thompson to Malcom Kelly 17 yard touchdown. Adrian Peterson 12 yard touchdown run. 14-3 Oklahoma 2nd Quarter: Sherrod Harris 12 yard option keeper for a touchdown. Oklahoma field goal. 17-10 Oklahoma 3rd Quarter: Colt McCoy 66 yard touchdown pass to Limas Sweed. Tim Crowder takes a Adrian Peterson fumble back 31 yards for the score. 24-17 Texas 4th Quarter: Jamaal Charles takes the option 33 yards to the house. Greg Johnson fieldgoal. Final Score: 34-17 Texas Player of Game: Sherrod Harris 178 rushing yards, 79 passing, 1 rushing touchdown. |
