Re: M Go Blue!! Bringing MU to the Top
2008-2009 Season Recap If you asked all of Michigans players and coaches and asked them to sum up the season in one word, it'd most likely be dissappointing. With only a peak rank of 23 and that was it, Michigan finishes this season 8-5. Last year was only a game better at 9-4 so some would say it wasn't that bad considering all the talent that left Michigan after last season. Key losses were to Notre Dame, Illinois, and Ohio St. But they had plenty of big wins too like to Wisconsin, rival Michigan St., and Northwestern. According to Head Coach Rich Rodriguez, it wasn't a bad season. It was fairly good for his first year. A lot of players agree. Brandon Minor had a sensational year rushing 355 times (1st in NCAA), for 1478 yards (11th in NCAA). But Michigan ended up with only 100 yards rushing a game. Why? Because QB #15 accumulated -250 yards rushing. By way of all sacks. Brandon Minor showed his frustration in these comments. "When people look at how we're almost dead last in rushing in the Big Ten, they just think 'Oh, their RB must not be so good'. That's not the case. I wish he just could have got the ball out sooner and not dropped back so far in some cases." But QB #15 made up for it by breaking the school record for most Passing Yards in One Season with 3340 yards. Which helped Greg Matthews have a record setting year with 1625 recieving yards. It's his Junior year and he could declare for the draft. Let's see what he does. Michigans defense was good this season. Ranking 24th in Total Yards given up (315 per game). They rank 3rd in Rushing Yards Allowed (72 per game). Their defense caused a lot of turnovers also. Totaling up 40 interceptions and 18 Fumble Recoveries. That combines for 58 which leads the NCAA. Overall, Michigan could of done better this year but they also could of have done worse. __________________ ![]() Done with dynasties/franchises until Christmas |

Re: M Go Blue!! Bringing MU to the Top
I'm surprised by BYU being 19th in the nation.
Hopefully next season will do good for you and Michigan, and you'll get my Wolverines into the Top 25! |

Re: M Go Blue!! Bringing MU to the Top
Season Preview This season has higher expectations than last year. Michigan actually starts in the Top 25 at 22 this year. Brandon Minor and Greg Matthews are returning this year and hope to get Michigan into higher ranks this season. Michigan had a great recruting class nabbing the #1 and #2 rated Defensive Tackles, #4 Middle Linebacker, #1 Strong Safety, and a bunch of young guys to train and help the team for future years to come. QB #15 is coming off of a dissappointing season. Even though he broke the school record for Passing Yards in one season, he threw 31 interceptions and had a total of -250 rushing yards. Thats not very good. He vows to have a better season. As for the defense, a lot of key players left this past season. Including Brandon Harrison, Morgan Trent, Tim Jamison, and Terrence Taylor. But a great recruiting year had this defense in top shape. With Will Mitchell and Jared Alford as their top recruits, Michigan defense should be as supurb as last year. But with a strength of schedule at A they could have difficulty. Not to mention that the Big Ten is the Strongest Conference since the early weeks of last season shouldn't help out Michigans conference record. Regular Season Record Prediction: 9-3 Bowl Prediction: Capital One Bowl or Insight Bowl, possibly Rose Bowl __________________ ![]() Done with dynasties/franchises until Christmas Last edited by YoungWonda : 07-30-2008 at 11:20 PM. |
