Hey guys, great job on the sliders. I am new here, but I too play with the wildcats of Kentucky. I took your advice on 9 minute quarters and I am finally happy with my stats, including defensive. I actually have players with double digit tackles. Keep up the good work.

I'm always looking for ways to improve the game with sliders but unfortunatley the INT's are something that will happen simply because EA has dummied down the awareness of most of the college QB's which is fine but in doing so you can't have defenders that have catch ratings on most teams as if they are WR's. That's the beauty of my roster file that I'm working on for the game it's a beast when you edit the ratings of the players. You can get the game play to be 100% better simply by tweaking the ratings as opposed to the sliders. I wish my file was completely finished already because it would blow the minds of many people who have played this game and enjoyed it but the turnovers was their only issues they had with the game. My roster file basically eliminates those turnovers to a much more realistic amount each and every game. QB's are smarter, RB's simply don't caugh up the ball as much, FB's, WR's and TE's block much more realistic down the field and OL's pick up blitzes much better in addition to getting out in front of ball carriers much quicker. I commend EA for putting together a very nice game but IMO their default ratings stop this game from being great. Luckily for me I have the patience to build my own rosters and re-rate the players to react and perform much better which in return takes the game play to another level completely for me. |

Man that sounds like alot of work. I want to play the best college football possible, but rebuilding all the problems sounds like a update that EA should do for us.

Re: Playmakers 360 NCAA AA Sliders
Are you adjusting all qb's. or just the better ones or the ones you are playing with? I am having alot more fun now. I am using Boise State and leading the nation in scoring and rushing with 9 min quarters. My question is: Am I playing too long? I am 10 games in, and I lead in total yards by 60 yards (realistic), MLB leading country in tackles by 10 (had 19 in one game), I give up over 300 yards a game passing (frustrating but realistic with my defense). 2nd in first downs, interceptions.
Would any team I used be this high ranked in the stats due to long games (9 minutes)? It does take a long time to play (over an hour), but it is worth it to be realistic. 7 mins seems too short, but 9 too long. i know 8 is in the middle, but it seems short some too. I just want real numbers. I feel like I am oer inflating them with extra plays. I wish there was a total plays column in team stats. Last edited by WingedSpurlock : 09-11-2007 at 10:18 AM. |

Also, I'm not tweaking anything with the regular rosters because I already started my dynasty with the default players. But on my Alumni rosters the players are simply smarter and react more realistic because of the ratings I've tweaked with in the game. Basically I've made the QB's smarter in the pocket and towards reading defenses. The catch ratings for the defenders have all been dropped down so there are no players with a higher catch rating than 65 and even that is rare for DB's like Deion Sanders, Mike Haynes, Champ Bailey or Lester Hayes type guy's. I'm tweaking the FB's, TE's and Interior lineman so that they are smarter and much quicker in getting out in space on counters, sweeps and off tackle runs. Some of the WR's passing ratings have beeen modified aswell so that they can actually complete a few tricks plays that the AI likes to run. So, it's possible you'll see guy's like Hines Ward, Randle El and and few others who were former QB's in college have a better chance of making those plays work for you and against you. |

Re: Playmakers 360 NCAA AA Sliders
I've been getting some pretty good games with these sliders modified to fit a roster file I'm working on.
The changes I've made were listed below for the file so you can test it out and see how it works with default rosters. HUM/CPU PASS BLK-50/25 RUN BLK-25/50 KDWN-50/50 INT-0/0 BRK BLK-0/0 TKL-50/50 The KWDNS and TKL Sliders were increased because on my file I dropped the Catch Ratings of the defenders and increased the Carry ratings of the Skill Players. This may not work very well with default rosters but you can test it out. |
