Re: Playmakers NCAA 09 Sliders

horray!!! playmakers is back!!! IMO, these base of sliders played slightly better than Freds, so Im probly gonna use these. Also to all and Playmakers, does it seem like EA made defending the pass a big challenge?

Yeah it looks like they opened up the passing game a lot more this year but I'm getting better in coverage the more games I play.....I try to stay away from man coverage because it doesn't seem to work aswell as it did for me NCAA 08.

Re: Playmakers NCAA 09 Sliders

The Fakers??? Man that's low. I still depressed about this year. We'll be back next year I promise you that. Now to the important stuff. Tried the sliders and had a great game. I have been playing on Heisman and winning and go to your AA sliders and lose using The Seminoles vs Cincy Bearcats. I jumped out to a 14-0 lead and I be damned if they did not runoff 21 straight points. I held their QB to 15-26 and roughly 200 yards. Had 7 penalties to include FM, PI, and Holding. People say the sliders are broken but I just think they are just not as powerful. PM these sliders have made me go back to AA. Peace!!!!

I really don't know what to think about all this slider stuff....If someone can show me where an EA rep came out and stated that the sliders were broken then I'd be 100% in agreement.

But as of right now I just think you hit the nail in the coffin the sliders aren't as powerful as in years past. They might actually work and do what they are suppose to do but the overall decrease or increase of each slider might not be as effective as it was in years past.

For example RBA for the CPU at default (50) he doesn't do much juking or dancing around.....then when I boosted him up (75) he started trying to avoid defenders more often sometimes doing too much dancing.

When I lowered the QBA for both sides (40) the ball just didn't have any zip on it especially the deep ball. I put it back to default (50) and right away it felt much better. I still believe somewhere between the WR Catch Slider and KDWN Slider on defense is the best way to lower the Completion %'s of the QB's. Those sliders feel like they have an impact on the passing game the most to me.

Re: Playmakers NCAA 09 Sliders

I'm going to have to take the sliders into dynasty mode and utilize 4 test teams and adjust their playbooks (Run/Pass ratio) because I really hate how every team doesn't seem to have a logical game plan.

I did make one adjustment to the CPU sliders and that was the Run Blocking up from 25 to 50 now. But it's hard to gauge if it's the run blocking that hurts their running game or the fact that they simply don't run enough in "Play Now" games.

I'm going to also look at their aggressive sliders on offense in Dynasty mode as I think that is how you can get them to attempt more deep throws in the game.

Re: Playmakers NCAA 09 Sliders

I updated the sliders on the front page after spending a great deal of time trying to balance them out on both sides of the ball. I'm fully aware of the possibility that the sliders might be broken and that's the reason why I spent so much time finding a right mixture to have the HUMAN and CPU sliders as equal as possible.

My goal was to jump start the CPU offense and tighten up their defense on AA Level to make the game competive for those looking for an alternative to HEISMAN level. Some of the settings might have you scratching your head if you just go by the numbers but I'd play the game before jumping to conclusions. They aren't perfect but they should present a good challenge and you might even encounter some nice defensive battles in few games.

I realize the CPU's running game is a major issue and yes that setting is correct at 35 for both sides RBA....My reason behind this setting being reduced is because it reduces the amount of speed advantage the offensive players have over the defensive players. speed in this game is kinda over the top IMO and this helps to settle it down just a bit.

I'm also aware that I'm going against the trend in regards to QBA slider aswell. My reason for increasing it instead of lowering it was because all that slider does when you drop it is drastically reduce the power behind the throws which leads to passes being thrown like beach balls all over the field.

It could possibly be lowered back down before my final settings but right now I'd rather tweak the defensive sliders to help offset the high completion % then drop this slider below 50 again.

Yea I had to lower it down to 35-30 when I saw my rec break 2 tackles and stiff arm the hell out of a LB then he broke another one.

So far good sliders as always.

I wish they could be near perfect...

I should have these finalized by the weekend, I'm going to use them in dynasty mode with playbook edits some more but right now I won't be making any drastic changes atleast until EA sends out a patch confirming that the original sliders were screwed up.

All of my adjustments as of today have been made strictly on what I'm seeing on the field without getting too caught up in the slider issues.
