Sliders are jacked..
OK, so I play my dynasty on AA difficulty. I have all the sliders towards the CPU to make it harder, but still easier than Heisman, although I am prolly gouing to move up.
Well, I have my User INT setting at 0 and the CPU INT setting at 10, yet CONSTANTLY get pick after pick no matter what. I have the user defense awareness at 20 and CPU QB ACC at 75. What is the deal? Ruined the game for me. |

Re: Sliders are jacked..
I know what you mean. I've been trying to lower QB ACC because the accuracy is too high but it leads to too many ints. There are just too many ints again in this game. I wish there was some kind of good balance. I've even tried 0 awarenss and 0 int and it still doesn't help from what I could see.

Re: Sliders are jacked..
The interceptions that happen to me seem realistic. The ones that happen to me the most is if I throw a ball and it somehow directed at the CB and not the WR. That might be because of the Throwing Acc. that I lowered in my sliders but still, it's really hard to get everything accurate.
This isn't a real game but a simulator so it's going to take some time and tweaking |

Re: Sliders are jacked..
Here's what I do know about the sliders after a week with the game.
QBA if set below 50 will take away the power and speed of a pass. That leads to passes floating in the air which I HATE. I understand the completion percentage's are too high but I refuse to have a QB with 90+ power only able to throw the ball 40-45 yards down the field with the ball floating in the air in the process. Leaving this at default seems to have the best combination of speed and power of a pass even though it's a little too accurate. RBA Slider most definetly works because I can feel the drop in speed when I reduce slider. In fact you even start to see a few fumbles when you lower this slider and less broken tackles. This slider might be the best slider to build an offense around as a base set on both sides. The only weird thing is it doesn't feel that way on kickoffs. If you find a good setting with this slider and then go into dynasty mode and alter the game to have teams run the ball more and cut down on the pass attempts you'll see stats that are pretty damn realistic when you play. I've always used Phil Steel's Run/Pass ratios in my dynasty seasons. The KDWN Slider definetly works like it's suppose to work. In fact this slider is kinda like the RBA slider. It should be the slider that you build your defense around since this game is pass happy. I see no reason to ever have this slider below 100 unless your varsity level I suppose in which the game might be easier. INT Slider IMO does a couple of things....It kinda teleports the DB's into better posistion to break on the ball. In years past this was not good but this year it's a good thing because it gets your DB's to react much better especially in Man Coverage. In a way this slider actually represents the Awareness of the DB's more so than the actual DEF AWR slider. The Tackle slider this year for Human is way too strong and for the CPU this slider actually does wonders for their defense because it helps to improve their pursuit of the ball. Rasing this slider takes away the big play ability of the best RB's which is it's inly down fall. The AWR Slider IMO has no problem's....if it's broken I can't tell because the mninute I set the CPU to 100 on AA level they begin to react much quicker on defense. That slider is more so a reaction time slider by the defenders more than anything. It doesn't make the CPU do in human things it just helps them to react to a play quicker. Special teams sliders I see no problems at all accept EA dummies down the punt and kick off coverage teams. They also slowed down the defenders this year. I can tell because when you play NCAA 08 you don't see RB's and WR's falt out running past defenders as easily. I understand what EA was trying to do this year but in the process they accomplished that by making the defenders not play to their true speed ratings once the ball is in play. Like I said before I'm not going to agree or disagree whether the sliders are broken or not..... I will say that the offensive sliders seem to have something weird going on but I don't see any issues with the defensive sliders or special teams sliders at all at this year. For all I know maybe EA did something on purpose with the sliders like making them less effective and some guy assumed the sliders were broken. They can tell us anything and then we'll believe it and they'll say don't worry we have a patch that will fix the problems. Which brings me to my BIGGEST COMPLAINT if the sliders are simply broken not just weaker than in years past why the hell didn't someone in their QA dept catch it before the game was released? Your telling me those 4-5 guy's in their QA dept didn't notice the sliders were broken but yet some ordinary guy like you or me went in and started testing sliders on his own and discovered the problem in one week. For all I know this could have been done intentionally by EA....think about it they give us better atmosphere, player models, graphics, animations and more features. Heck we can even edit the players class year again which shouldn't have been taking out to begin with last year. Ask yourself if 09 didn't have the QBA, Roster bug and slider issues would you buy the game next year if EA decides to screw up like they did Madden 08 or NCAA 08? It's no surprise to me that every year there's 1-2 things that are keeping the game from being ultimatley great. Next year they'll add nets to the goal post and but leave out the football and then say a patch is on the way... ![]() __________________ Playmakers Sliders Updated as of 10/29/08 http://www.sportsgamer.com/forums/nc...9-sliders.htmlNCAA 09 http://www.sportsgamer.com/forums/pl...playbooks.htmlNBA Live 09 http://www.sportsgamer.com/forums/nb...9-sliders.htmlNBA 2K9 Currently working on Large Historic Roster File for NCAA Football 09 Last edited by Playmakers : 07-27-2008 at 04:19 PM. |
