He currently holds the record for the most Pro Bowl appearances, with 12. During the 2006 season, Randall McDaniel was inducted into the Minnesota Vikings "Ring of Honor" joining other former Viking greats. During his 12-year stint with the Dallas Cowboys, Jim Jeffcoat totaled 698 tackles, 94.5 sacks and 149 quarterback pressures. His best season in Dallas was 1989, when he finished with a career-high 100 tackles, a career-high 42 quarterback pressures, 11.5 sacks and a career-high three fumble recoveries. He registered five seasons with 70-or-more tackles and five seasons with 10-or-more sacks in Dallas. He tied the Cowboys team record for sacks in a game when he registered five sacks at Washington on Nov. 10, 1985. Jeffcoat played his final three seasons with the Buffalo Bills. Jeffcoat was a three-year starter at Arizona State University from 1980-82, where he earned All-PAC 10 and honorable mention All-America honors. He was inducted into the Arizona State Hall of Fame on Oct. 22, 1994 after being named to the all-time Fiesta Bowl team in 1991. Danny Villa (football/1983-86) was team captain and anchor of the 1986 ASU offensive line that propelled Arizona State to their first Pac-10 Conference title and the 1987 Rose Bowl crown. Villa was a 1986 consensus All-America pick by the Associated Press and the Football Writers Association, the first offensive lineman at Arizona State to achieve this status and won the 1986 Morris Trophy as the Pac-10 Offensive Lineman of the Year as voted by the conference's defensive linemen. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ARKANSAS ST IMPACT PLAYERS-MAURICE CARTHON/BILL BERGEY QB-Cleo Lemon, Devin Hollins, Nick Noce RB-Calvin Harrell, Richie Woit, Leroy Harris, Stan Winfrey, Cory Walker, Danny Smith FB-Maurice Carthon, Bill Johnson, Shane Tolleson WR-Fred Barnett, Steve Burks, Kendricke Bullard, James Hickenbotham, Robert Kilow, Sammy Weir, Mike Cox, Lennie Johnson TE-Manuel Burton OT-Harry Larche, Ken Jones, Todd Frohbieter, Garrick Jones, Kimani Jones OG-Ray Brown, Jesse Duncan, Gary Johnson, John Crossley C-Tab Slaughter, Lance Martin DE-Clovis Swinney, Zach Grigsby, Courtney Todd, Quinton Thomas DT-Corey Williams, Darren Benson, Jon Bradley, Jeff Fields, Myron Anderson OLB-Jerry Muckensturm, Carlos Emmons, Les Eckles, Steven Tookes MLB-Bill Bergey, Gary Crane CB-Elbert Shelley, Tim Smiley, Vince Barnett, Greg Lee, Jonathan Burke, Lamar Lee, Dennis Myers FS-Jeff Welch, Alex Peoples SS-Mike Adams, Stacy Price K-Nick Gatto, Jim Tarle P-Kyle Richardson, Stacy Gore LS-Tab Slaughter KR/PR-Kendricke Bullard/James Hickenbotham Football Card: 1971 Topps #155 Bill Bergey Bill Bergey Bill Bergey - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Bill Bergey All-Time Sun Belt Football Team - SunBeltSports.org - Sun Belt Conference Sports All Time Sun Belt Players for Ark St Arkansas State 2003 Football Preview Dallas Cowboys Official Website Moe Carthon Catching up with ... Only four football jersey numbers have been retired in ASU's illustrious 89-year-old history. The latest is No. 56 worn by Harry Larche, retired during the halftime of the season finale in 1998. Larche is the second Indian ever to sign a professional football contract in 1948. Linebacker Bill Bergey, who played with the Indians from 1965-68 before an impressive career with the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals, was on hand to see No. 66 retired during the November 22, 1997. Jersey number 49, worn by the late great Calvin Harrell when he was a two-time All-America running back at ASU, was retired in a ceremony November 9, 1996. According to records, ASU's first-ever first-team All-American Richie Woit saw his No. 83 retired in 1954. However, the number is still in use. Ring of Honor The Ring of Honor, an idea of former athletic director Barry Dowd, recognizes Indian football greatness. Ring inductees include former Indian players Bill Phillips (2003), Maurice Carthon (2002), Harry Larche (1998), Bill Bergey (1997), and Calvin Harrell (1996). K Nick Gatto (5-11, 190 Arkansas State) joined the Copperheads with an already impressive Arena Football resume. Gatto was named to the 2002 AFL All-Rookie team as a member of the Orlando Predators, and he has also played for the Dallas Desperadoes, Chicago Rush, San Jose SaberCats, Detroit Fury and the Grand Rapids Rampage.
