Is there a bigger corrupted liar in sports?

DETROIT -- Sacramento Kings' star Chris Webber was ineligible when he played basketball in high school because of his relationship with a former University of Michigan basketball booster, which violated his amateur standing, the state's governing body for high school athletics has ruled. I dont even think he's as good as advertised. He's got the talent but he's soft and gets way to much hype.

Ha are you serious? Why is he always injured? Why is it that shorter guys like Brian Grant were guarding Shaq instead of C-Webbs big ass?

I don't know if you can really blame young guys for talking to boosters or taking money from people. That's the atmosphere of college sports right now. Some athletes don't have any money so it's hard to tell someone no when they offer you 500 bucks to pay for your rent.
These days kids as young as middle school age are being told they are the next Michael Jordan. They are taught for a god part of their lives that they can have whatever they want, aren't used to hearing no, and I don't think we should be too surprised when they start acting that way. Now when C. Web gets caught smoking weed or something like that when he's a grown man that's on him. But these young high school and college guys are doing stuff like this because they have a lot of outside influences. I think they should go after the people who are giving the money to these kids and crack down on them hard. |

you know what bothers me, Michigan obviously has or at a bare minimum, had some very very shady things going on around their basketball team.... The Gophers are still paying for the whole Clem Haskins fiasco and it wasn't anywhere near this.... Why do my teams always get caught? The T'Wolves lost 4 first round picks for signing the horrible Joe Smith to a deal under the table.... That's what bothers me, because you know for a fact most college and pro teams are cheating the system.... The Redskins for example.... how are they able to sign every single top teir FA year in and year out? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
