Stephon Marbury traded to the New York Knicks
Here's the scoop from ESPN.
"New York would acquire Marbury, Penny Hardaway, and Cezary Trybanski from Phoenix for Antonio McDyess, Howard Eisley, Charlie Ward, Maciej Lampe, the rights to Milos Vujanic, and cash." I really don't see why the Phoenix Suns traded away Stephon Marbury. His stats are solid. I thought maybe he turned the ball over too much, but he has only coughed it up about 3 times a game this year, which isn't that much. My only guess is that he's not a great teammate or presence in the locker room. That's really the only thing I can think of when this is the 4th team he's going to be playing for in 8 1/2 seasons. __________________ ![]() ![]() The original masked man AIM sn=DJBucs2005 |

Stupid trade IMO for the Suns. Why get Mcdyess? That guy sucks because he is always injured. ANd he was already in phoenix once. At least with Marbury you have a guy who can contribute. AND they gave up Penny Hardaway too?? The Knicks robbed the Suns.

Yea, McDyess is a liability for any team, he was that way at Ole Miss. And New York ganked them in this trade, Penny is washed up, but a solid scorer

Why doesn't Mcdyess retire? I am so tired of hearing about that waste of skin!

I think the Knicks got the deal because of the two 1st round drafts picks that they are shootin over to the Suns. That's a good deal for the Knicks, because every first round draft pick they make is a flop.
Isiah Thomas is really helpin out these Knickerbockers. |

Thanks for the insight on this trade guys, especially Tim Buktu. I was really left in the dark as to why Stephon Marbury was traded away again.

mcdyess contract runs out after this year i think. about 15 mill.
well, knicks could have used that for Kobe. now they are stuck with 60 mill between marbury houston hardway and van horn for forever. Plus they gave up 2 first rounders. Unless Knicks make it to at least the conference finals by next year, this deal is a moronic move by Isaiah. |
