As for FGators saying there is no way a playoff team (Cleveland) will go 4-12, well, they really aren't much of a playoff team. They have no returning starters at linebacker, they have a huge distraction in the Couch vs Holcombe QB controversy, they lost around 10 free agents and gained one in LB Barry Gardner. They are not near as good a team as they were last year and they are playing against a much harder schedule. 8-8 would be a downright miracle. |

AFC North
Steelers (9-7) - Maddox will have a mediocre year, the running game won't help him much until the end of the season when Zereoue steps it up. Batch will get a few starts due to minor Maddox injury. INT and Fumbles will be high, but defense will cut down the damage. WR yrdge will be high. Gildon injured, draft pick Jackson will step in. Defense will be top 10. 4-4 start, but will go 5-3 to end the regular season. Ravens (9-7) - Ravens will surprise. I have no reason to believe they will beat out Steelers for division title b/c their QB/WR situation is worse. Billick will start Boller sometime during season, but he won't play well (he's a rookie). Defense will be top 5. Overuse of running game will slow down J. Lewis and Smith will step in. 6-2 start, but will go 3-5 against offense heavy 2nd half of schedule. Definite WC berth if starting QB(s) can perform. Browns (6-10) - Difficult schedule will keep them out the playoffs. Couch will have a mediocre year, Holcombe won't do much better. Northcutt and Morgan will become WRs 1 and 2. W. Green will not be a factor. Defense will be unremarkable. They will pull out the close games. Possibly a 4-4 start, and 2-6 the rest of the way. Bengals (6-10) - Coach Lewis will have difficulty getting wins on a young team playing a tough schedule, but he will begin turning around the team. Look out for the Bengals to win some surprising games. Draft picks Washington, Steinbach, and Abdullah will establish themselves as franchise players. Rest of defense will manage to screw it up for the team (hah). Will go 3-5 1st half, 3-5 2nd half. |

I think you guys are underestimating the Broncos chances. I bet Plummer will surprise people, he has so many weapons at his disposal. The Broncos could have a top 5 offense if he performs well and I think he will. I bet Portis gets close to 2,000 yards as well, but the only thing that may stop this team is the defense, which I think will surprise people. THey have a solid front 7, its just the secondary that scares me. With some easy games, look for a 10-6 record or maybe even better because their schedule looks easier on paper then last year.

1. Brad Johnson will probably suffer an injury during the season, allowing some other team to pass them by.
2. Irrelevant. |

Ugh....

Every other team in the AFC East improved themselves besides the Jets, who only got worse. They might get to 8-8. Might. |
