Super Bowl Question

Ok, I've been looking for the answer to this for awhile. Lets see if someone here knows.

How does the nfl decide who's home and who's away for each super bowl ?

Hopefully someone here can answer this question and end my search for the answer.

I guarantee you that it alternates between AFC and NFC each year. So when they do the coin flip, whichever Conference was designated as the VISITORS that year, gets to call the flip.

But, I don't know how they came about deciding to do it that way. But it's a sensible way to do it

lol, good call on wikipedia:

Super Bowl - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quote:
The designated "home team" alternates between the NFC team in odd-numbered years (the Chicago Bears in 2007), and the AFC team in even-numbered years (the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2006). The home team is given the choice of either wearing their colored jerseys or their white ones; this started with Super Bowl XIII.
