EA Sports responds to NHL 2004/2005 Feedback

EA Sports gave out feedback surveys to a select few community leaders and one of them was to DigitalAnvil, the maintainer of crushem.net (forums for online leagues). Check out the *FOUR* survey threads... These are something that me, digitalanvil, and some others put together, and EA responded to a lot of the feedback (in the red writing). Im sure you guys will like what you see.

NOTE: theres also a Q/A thread that was done a while back, not sure if anyone saw it. i think thanks to the final question in that Q/A EA was pushed to actually add in the pull goalie button :)

What did you think about the goalies in NHL 2004?
POSITIVES:
- Desperation saves were really good
- how they leave the nets when called on
- great animations
- That you can score from anywhere at any time if you take the right shot
- Were very good at picking up the puck once it was shot on the forehand

Woah, that's BS imo. EA goalies suck. I'd like the goalies to be able to loose the puck when carrying it with their sticks, as in Sega's product. How come no one addressed this issue? :(

There were many things I did like, like the referee strictness thing with the different personalities.

2005 will have different ref personalities. Some refs are strict and some are lenient. They will even focus on different areas, so some refs call more stick work penalties, while some refs call more obstruction hooking penalties.

Thats what some people told EA what they thought of the game, the writing in RED is their responses to people's feedback

It's an interesting read, thanks! Most answers are what you can expect, I guess, but there are a couple of things that make me a bit more optimistic. Also it's good to see them actually asking these kind of questions - I was particularly pleased about them asking what the players thought about their competition. That shows that they probably won't mind to take good features from these games, if they can.
