That's one thing I don't worry about with the XBox. I don't have the ability to adjust ratings or have add-ons (which I both really like) but I was insulted to have to go out and purchase more powerful video cards. Plus, I can take it out to a buddy's place and play video games there as well. How can you lose??

I have a 1 gig Mhz Amd Duron and just a minor little GForce 4(128mb Ram) and I run full res at 1280x1024 full sliders and she runs smooth as butta. I also just installed Madden 2004 (damn best graphics I've EVER seen ) same demensions full maximum settings and she runs smooth and incredible like watching a real football game. The only game I've had any slow downs with is NBA Live 2003 at full settings It's a wee choppy. Nba LIve 2004 smooth though (go Figure). Then again I run Windows 98 and I get rid of EVERYTHING in the background so just systray and Explorer are running.........I've heard the requirements will mirror Madden 2004...........

YOURE JOKING RIGHT DANNE? im running nhl 2004 at 60 FPS on 1024x768, 8xAF, no AA with an amd 2800+, 512 mb ddr400 (dual channel), nforce2 ultra 400, 120gb s-ata w/8mb cache western digital hd, and a 64mb geforce3 ti200
with Doom 3 on AVERAGE during regular gameplay its about 28 FPS according to a fraps benchmark i did over 20 mins of gameplay.. (in the doom3 timedemo 1 it runs at 15 FPS)... im running it at 1024x768, medium detail, all advanced effects on, i also edited the cfg file to get the maxiumum texture size possible (by default the max is only 256x256) without getting an fps drop that i could notice ... theres also no stutter in my game, 512 seems to be plenty for the game farcry runs at about 35-45 fps, 1024x768, no aa, no af (didnt do an actual benchmark though).. call of duty runs @ 60 fps on average (did a 5 minute benchmark in that level with all the bombs on the field), 1024x768, no aa, no af i used to be running a p3-600@783, 256mb ram, geforce3 ti200, and id get 23 fps in nhl 2004 @ 1024x768, 8xAF, no AA (Actually come to think of it even at 4xAA it ran at 23 FPS), it was cpu/motherboard limited but i still thought it was very playable to me nhl 2005 might even require less system resources because theyve reduced the amount of shadows on the ice which will probably give an fps boost i think with madden, 1024x768 w/QAA & 8xAF is about 40-60FPS (havent really checked the framerate).. although the current drivers that im using are kinda sucky because AA doesnt seem to turn on in 32 bit mode in madden.. im hoping its fixed in the next driver release |
