I'm getting the PC version, no problems from me. I don't care about not having a created player anyway, it won't kill me.

It's gone, BUT Suchy will be recieving this year's DB two-six weeks ahead of release by EA sports directly so he can update NHL View for the PC crowd ahead of the release date if HE so desires.(I hope and pray at least. They've only added Wrist shot power, Wrist shot Accuaracy, Slap shot power, slat shot accuracy to the attributes this year so that's not as bad as say about tracking 10=20 data sources...) Unfortunately the only system that'll really be bitten is ps2 owners as roster updates will be none exsistent for that platform whereas XBox will supposedly have a weekly download hub to update your rosters and appatently this year EA will include ANYONE who sets foot on the ice even for a shift this season. Now of course all this will be a moot point IF as the people in charge of the NHL maintain their real agenda is to only have a season starting January1(to get their contract demands met and each team will actually make more money through a half season than if they had a normal season....

Oh BTW they will rerelease it ALONG with the killer new cyber renderer NEXT SEASON so I guess one year of it missing will be alright if we can have all of us making cybers as good as EA's team this year....(that's why it's gone they didn't have time to impolement the new renderer in time they created cause they we're busy with fixing the game intros instead (which I for 1 appreaciate WAY more than last year's cheesy MTV openings with game previews with everybody shooting the wrong way............)

man o man... what's with EA and their 'we dont have enough time to do this or that'??

It must be that EA has such superior graphics, player models, and stuff like that that it takes up so much space and time that when they get down to gameplay they only have time for about 3 or 4 improvments then add a 'big feature' like last years Bruise Control, this years World Cup .. then add a fun-feature like last years Create-A-Team in season.. and this years Free4all...

so dissapointing tho =/

Yes I agree, I am very happy they finally, after a 2-year hiatus, fixed the intros. NHL 2002 was good, having the teams skate around, warming up, etc. My favorate was NHL 98 and NHL 99, zooming in from the score board, as the singer sings the anthem, showing the starter goalies, talking about them, their current stats, etc. Finally we get good intros again.

Plus, they've worked hard on the game play and other issues. No create-a-player is harsh, but it's only for one year, and as I've said, PC owners can still get their personal players created.

EA realizes how important this feature is and will definately learn not to leave it behind anymore in future titles. This game is gonna rock!

Actually, those intros are still in the game. If you watch the summit videos, they said that they mixed them, so one game you might get a realistic opening, and the cheesy one the next game. They said it gives "variety" that way. goody
