See the EGM scores from the magazine. Scanned.
Yep, here is the readables for the scores on both EA n Sega games this year.
I know you guys had the scores, but some of u may not have seen this, so take a look. PS. Read the part about the wraparound. Yeeeha, another blitch mania. They say 50 % of the time its a goal. Smells money to me :( .....boring.... All n all its intresting reading. Just get the feeling that EGM is just a tad Sega-biased..... ![]() |

Yah that's exactly what I thought from just watching some NHL 2005 and NHL 2k5 vids...
Too much checking in NHL 2005 and too little checking in NHL 2k5! But I agree with about everything these guys say.. so I'm not surprised when they give NHL 2005 low scores like 6... they deserve it! If they were just marking NHL 2005 on its graphics alone it would be a 9, 9.5, maybe 10 and NHL 2k5 a 8, 8.5 maybe... but overall NHL 2k5 just seems to have so much more... NHL 2005 is just simplified... fast paced... hard hitting... drunken-fest ![]() Heheh but thanks for the scans carpe! ![]() |

Sliders can fix the alot of the beefs in both of these games...
Intense Contact Controls sound unbelievably awesome though. |

Again, I feel I should point this out: THE GAME IS NOT OUT YET. IT'S NOT OUT FOR ANOTHER MONTH. Has it gone gold? No, so they can easily fix some of the bugs they're *****ing about, not to mention the sliders. I trust nothing until I read IGN's review, which comes out a day or two before the game actually ships. Come to think of it, most good review sites do that. This is why videogame magazines have become a thing of the past... problems like this. The internet-based reviews are FAR superior.

EGM only reviews code that the Publisher deems "reviewable" If it was unfinished, then it's EA's fault for allowing EGM to review it. This review is just as valid as any other.
P.S: Thanks Carpedapuck! I linked to your scan on the ESPNHockey.net forums, hope you don't mind! ![]() |

I've played NHL 2005 at the Summit and it's on no way a 6.0 game... I don't know what they're talking about regarding the hitting, but it's nowhere near as bad as 2004...
NHL 2005 is nowhere under a 8.0 score, I do agree that ESPN will probably be the better game for 2005, but 6.0?? EGM is on some kind of drugs... |

McSilva: true, true, but I don't think the basics will change in a week or two. We'll see. I'll definately try both, so I'm just reading this stuff for fun.
I like that style of review, never seen it before. __________________ ![]() FHR07 (SM-liiga & more for NHL 07) can be found at http://fhr.fi! FHR needs your help! http://www.sportsgamer.com/forums/sh...4&postcount=92 |
