Ok, I know it's a little bit too early but I was wondering if any of you:
I own the game since yesterday and I played a total of 6 games: All of these games have been played with the default gameplay settings. Between, I played with the Canadians all the time (Huet as the goalie) against different team every time (Boston, Vancouver, Carolina, Philadelphia, Toronto and Phoenix). In the beginning (on Pro mode), I had to get used to the new controls so I was loosing almost all the time. As soon as I was getting used to the game (controls, gameplay type, skating, motion...), I went on All-Star mode and finish my first game ever on this mode with a final score of 2 - 1 for the opponent. Ok, I did lose but it was kind of very tigh and I could have won it. Then I switched to Superstar mode because I thought that perhaps I was ready for the big challenge you know. So I began on Superstar mode and here's the result of the 2 games I've played so far on this difficulty mode: Ok, I know that regarding the scores, it's very tight but considering the fact that I didn't played my best during these 2 games, I'm kind of scared you know because it seems like the game will only get easier with time because it's like this, the more you play, the more you get better and start to get used to the AI behavior and everything. I know it's a game and it can't be perfect and by the way, I'm not saying the game is bad! No no no! It's awsome! I just need some good gameplay settings (if it can bring a difference though) to make the game more difficult. I just don't want the game to be too easy so I can win almost all the time. Like the past years, I will start a Franchise soon and for me, it has to be realistic so I don't want to win 90% of my season games and win the Stanley Cup in the first year of my Franchise, maybe the second or the third, but not right away. Further more, because your players attributes only get better as you update your team (practice rink, coaches...) during the season and the whole Franchise, the game itself will get easier because of my players becoming Superstars! I know there's a demo of NHL 2K7 you can get on Xbox Live. I think I'm gonna give it a try but... gnah! I can't imagine myself switching to NHL 2K series because I love NHL from EA especially this year, with the Next-Gen and new stick control. Anyways, thank you everyone for reading this and give me some tips if possible! |

Hmmm... it feels weird to be the first replying to his own topic.
Just wanted to say that I've tried messing around with the gameplay settings and it changed a lot of things within the game (well, at least I hope it was because of the changes I've made to the gameplay settings and not just a coincidence). I've changed four aspect: - Agression: max (6 notches) - Pass Interception: max (6 notches) - Shot accuracy: 1 notche to the left - Shot power: same thing I played a 10 minutes period game and it was 4 - 1 for NY Rangers vs Montreal (my team). Anyways, gotta go for school. |

I think you need to start altering the game settings. I've been playing on All-Star mode with:
game speed 2 puck control 0 Fatigue effect 5 Fatigue recovery 1 Player acceleration 6 Hit power 5 Aggresion 6 Poke Effect 6 Pass intercept 6 Shot Accuracy 3 Shot power 3 Shot block 6 Hook effect 6 With these I've been getting very good results and tight games. The gameplay is much more realistic and challenging for me. |
