Re: News - EA Community Day 2007

I have a few questions:

Will the game run @ 60fps for BOTH PS3 and XBOX 360?

Will Referees (4) be in the game in their proper position calling infractions?

Will fans be more responsive to play on the ice both in sound and in reactions?

Thanks I appreciate this opportunity to add to the list of questions.

Ducks Fan!

Re: News - EA Community Day 2007

There are actual 4 On-Ice Officials in the real NHL. 2 Refs and 2 Linesmen and I don't think they will be in the game. I doubt they will be in proper positions.

Can players get injured other ways than just hip checks?

Re: News - EA Community Day 2007

Will there be a more realistic injury engine in the game? More ways players can injured and will there be injuries that make players leave the game, and come back in the third period or something?

Oh, and tell them thank you for really listening to the fans this year.

Re: News - EA Community Day 2007

First off, have an awesome time! :)

My questions:

* What additions have been made for defensive controls? Not just in the hard-copding of the game, but actual things that can be done via the controller?

* Will defensemen hold the blue line better in NHL 08?

* Will the game run at 60fps on both the 360 and PS3?

* Will Thorne and Clement be returning (please)? And with more commentary?

* Will the older team jerseys still be available for each team?

* Will historic teams be available?

* Any chance of a global player editor (i.e. so that all players can have a certain attribute changed with one click)?

More questions, but these are specific to the PC version:

* Has the play of the goalies been improved?

* Will the graphics format (.viv, .fsh files) be the same as in 06/07?

* Will Thorne and Clement be doing the commentary on the PC version this year?

* Will the CPU dump the puck and cycle the puck?

* All-time teams?

* Classic uniforms?

* What new features will be in the PC version?

* What are the system requirements?

* Will it utilize DirectX 10?

Re: News - EA Community Day 2007

This is the SAME question I ask every year regarding EA's NHL titles:

1) Will NHL 08 FINALLY feature a true-to-TV Broadcast angle that is playable?

I'm talking about a side-to-side camera that pivots from a FIXED position at centre-ice and captures each end of the rink on an angle.

If we want to get more picky, let's consider the Winning Eleven Series, with Broadcast cameras that actually 'switch' on the fly for some closeups of action during the heat of play. It's not the most practical gameplay camera, but at least players have the OPTION of using it.

This "Up-and-Down" stuff is so uninspiring and makes every NHL game look like a glorified pinball game.

Even the craptacular NHL Rivals game on xbox had customizable 'broadcast' cams that I'm speaking of.

And I really don't want to hear: "It's impossible to play from a broadcast angle because you can't follow the puck"...

I really hope they have added new camera angles because NHL 07's angles were ported from the previous-gen.

Thanks for tolerating my rant.

I do want to hopefully answer questions about the AI according to the official site:

"Dynamic AI adjusts to your every move both on offense and defense, promising to challenge even the most skilled hockey players. The intelligent CPU scouts your tendencies like a coach and makes the necessary adjustments to shut down your money plays, forcing you to adjust your style of play."

One last question, will there be a fantasy draft mode? They NEED to put this in!

This is the 'broadcast' angle I'm talking about... and EA usually uses it for replays only.

Have Fun at EA Community Day!
