Yes and Yes. The skill stick video answers question 1 really well.

Re: News - EA Community Day 2007

Thanks again Metalpuck...

A couple of questions, if you don't mind:

1) About those new presentation camera angles... Are there any new or improved PLAYABLE camera angles?

2) Any info. about custom soundtracks this time around?

Thanks,

Cozmicoz

Hey Metalpuck...thanks again...

With the defensive controls...we know they've been reworked, but can you elaborate on how it feels playing the game itself?

Can you maintain positions easily as EA claims? Can you go down on one knee and lay your stick on the ice while penalty killing to keep a clean pass across from being made? Does the feel of the defense really come across as EA has suggested thus far?

Maybe they'll actually give us a video demonstrating the flow on defense similar to the ones they put out showing the offensive controls...

Oh yeah, kinda silly question here:

1) With regards to the new presentation that supposedly 'blows NHL 07's away'... are out-of-town scores shown during the game?

- Remember the original NHL... they had out-of-town updates!

Thanks Metalpuck,

Cozmicoz

Answer 1)
The defense is interesting this year. Remember with the new skill stick guys, the offense can now undress you like you're a goalie, so getting out of position or missing a check can really hurt you and put your goalie in serious trouble. (i've already done it and it sucks!). So you have to play smarter defense but when you do land a check or poke check it rules! :D

Answer 2)
To further elaborate, yes you have even more control of the defense. Meaning sliding or going to one knee is customary now. And the checking rules this time. I mean you got guys flying all over. (at least when you'[re on my ice!)

No you still see the scores from other games at the schedule screen.

"No playable cameras"

I noticed a post over on the EA forums that said the action camera actually cycles between different camera angles....

Sound interesting, but can you confirm if that's true? Maybe you never played in the action view?

Maybe i misunderstood your question. you play in the same angle as in 07. The replays are in different angles which is cool. Does that answer it?
