NHL 09 Wishes

If EA wants go for authenticity, they need to add the details right down to the player benches and what side the home teams sit on.
I know it's not a real important thing but I think it adds to the realism.
2k had this in their game since 2K3.
EA should take note.

Standing on the ice looking at the players' benches, the home teams that sit on the left are:

Anaheim Ducks
Atlanta Thrashers
Boston Bruins
Buffalo Sabres
Columbus Blue Jackets
Edmonton Oilers
Nashville Predators
New Jersey Devils
Ottawa Senators
Phoenix Coyotes
Pittsburgh Penguins
San Jose Sharks
St. Louis Blues
Tampa Bay Lightning

Teams that sit on the right:

Calgary Flames
Carolina Hurricanes
Chicago Blackhawks
Colorado Avalanche
Dallas Stars
Detroit Red Wings
Florida Panthers
Los angels Kings
Minnesota Wild
Montreal Canadiens
New York Islanders
New York Rangers
Philadelphia Flyers
Toronto Maple Leafs
Vancouver Canucks
Washington Capitals

Re: NHL 08 Wishes

i would like to see highlights from other games like nhl 94 and i would like to see a better broadcast perspective.. ex warmups, skating onto the ice, anthems. light shows and so on. maybe even being able to play the warm ups and do drills while hte game is loading like nba live and such

Re: NHL 08 Wishes

One thing I like from the 2K series and would like to see it in EA's game is the custom soundtrack feature for the 360.
This would make the game even more realistic.

How does a custom sound track add realism? I think you mean a custom sound track would benefit the game, but not add realism.

I agree. It is kinda like the Fantasy Draft.

It doesn't add realism to the gameplay but to the atmosphere it does.
Hearing the same tune that is used in an NHL arena after a goal is scored is cool too!
Plus it would definitely benefit it.

Agreed. Out of the bands that were featured in NHL 07, I think I may have heard of only one of them...adding your own music would benefit the game (like avsrule247 mentioned) while giving it more authenticity at the same time. However, there's a couple things I have to stress here...the first is that you must have the ability to clip and cut songs. Like if the part you want played is a minute into the song, you should be able to save a clip starting at that point. And second, you must be able to select what songs are played at what points; i.e. during stoppages, after penalties...and especially during fights. I'm sure we can find some good ass-kicking music out there.

A few more things for 09

I would like to hear the correct arena chants and goal horns too in the game.
Pittsburgh Penguins arena chant is > Let's go Pens!!!
The little things I would like to see on occasion is a controversial goal.
The refs call upstairs for the replay to make sure it is a goal. Could add to the suspense but it shouldn’t happen too often.
How about after the end of the season you have players enter the hall of fame.
There should be a list you could view of the HOF players.
The list should show players that are retired and the ones that are eligible to be inducted.
Could add to the depth of the franchise part of the game.
The franchise should not be limited to 10 or 15 years. It should be unlimited in the number of years you want to play or at least 50 years. Some players careers are 20 years. Just look at Chelios. Please upgrade this part of the Franchise mode.
How about a 3rd commentator for some on ice reports and analysis.

Re: NHL 08 Wishes

I would like to be able to change the opponent's jersey. When you are about to start the game in season mode you should be able to change the computer's jersey. You were able to do this in NHL 2000. Also bring back the videos that they had in NHL 99 right after the "EA SPORTS It's in the game"
