So all that talk at the end of last season about how Kovalev wanted to return, i think he is either waiting until July 1st to leave...or he is waiting for a better offer.

Well one think i think Kovalev learned by playing in NYR, is that having the contract you want doesnt mean your giong to be happy. So i think Kovalev has actually gone the opposiste way of selling out after bing in NYR.

IOW im suggesting he may sign for less just to play with Mario Lemieux

That could seriously mean playoffs. I mean it. Too bad Piggie Airlines has yet to schedule my flight.

Sucks to be the Habs. Kovalev meant everything this playoffs. He made Saku better, Zednik better, and he looked like the world class scorer he is.

Considering his best years where in Pittsburgh, why wouldn't he want to come back:

Plus he stayed in contact with the team every week this year he spoke to either Craig Patrick etc., he wants to come back. He still owns his home here too. Plus its called the CBA.

You tapped his phones?
If Montreal doesn't re-sign Kovy, they just wasted Balej because Kovalev didn't really do anything in the playoffs aside from whining about his broken nail and running into Souray with tears in his eyes.

Another Habs news, Gainey also announced that Yannic Perrault will be testing the free-agent market as well.
