PRAGUE (AP) - Detroit Red Wings goaltender Dominik Hasek said he hopes to join a new NHL team by the end of June.

``The decision should be taken in two-three weeks, no later than the beginning of July,'' Hasek was quoted as saying in Thursday's edition of the Sport daily.

``At the moment I can only confirm that I won't be in Detroit next season,'' he said.

A 39-year-old veteran of 13 National Hockey League seasons, Hasek said he wanted to join a team that had a chance to win the Stanley Cup.

``Ottawa is definitely among them,'' he said, referring to media reports that the Senators wanted to sign him.

Where the hell did you pull that from? There is so little chance of him coming to a team with a commited number one goalie (like Colorado) that I'd rate it in the negatives.

I wouldn't call the bidding for Hasek a sweepstakes. :P

It is a happy day though :).. Good luck to Hasek, and even more luck to the team that gets him.

that ****ing guy I'm telling ya... stay on a team consistently and maybe try a lot harder and he'll get the cup!!... that's all he wants, a cup!! keep movin around like this wont get him one.

What's with all the Hasek bashing?

Need I remind you that if you carve away all the "head case" stuff and the injuries, you're left with a goalie with a ridiculous amount of skill at his position? 2 Hart trophies, 6 Vezinas, and a Stanley Cup. Hello...It's not like we're talking about Peter Skudra here. This guy has AMAZING credentials.
