Super Mario Galaxy 2

I am getting a wii u in a few months, and I want to know how backwards compatibility works. Specifically, will I be able to play Mario Galaxy 2 and New Super Mario Bros Wii on it without having to buy a nunchuk?

To control wii games you need wii controllers. You can do off tv play on the gamepad but you need to control Mario with wiimote and nunchuck in galaxy 2.
