Did you skip School alot growing up?

I did I hated school with a passion I was bored out of my mind and couldn't stand most of my peers. I would usually stay home watch tv and play video games ect.. Education is obviously important but at that age and time of my life I didn't give two shits about anything related to school. In my last couple years of high school I would just get wasted as much as I could on anything just to escape the drama of it all. I feel I hated school more then most people did I never cared that much about socializing with people or hanging out with them after school anything that reminded me of that place was shit to me. I did get into fights and I did do drugs in school it felt like a prison to me at times. So what about you?

I didn't like school either. When someone reaches into adult ages schools doesn't even matter. Most of the information would be forgotten anyway. School is more a social place than learning.

I skipped a lot and had accumulated like ~400 hrs of Saturday school and they threatened my parents that they would get the authorities involved.

I didn't do drugs until after I dropped out. I started drinking, getting high, and going to college parties even though I wasn't attending college. I even went to concerts and raves. I was a mess, depressed, and wasted a lot of time doing absolutely nothing to improve or prepare myself for adult life.

Though I got my GED and went back to college. Got like 60 units and a 3.8 GPA. What made me really clean up my act was the reality of my situation when I got cancer at 20. I beat it and ended treatment at 24. I've been given a second chance to redeem myself.

Not as much as I should. I started high-school as an outsider, having just moved to the city from the countryside, and I never managed to fit in. I was always a great student but with each passing year I hated school even more and at some point I even gave up on socializing. I blame those years for the socially awkward, scared of new experiences and low self esteem person I have become.

Nope, I doubt I missed a month in total from ages 6-18 (kindergarten to high-school).

Wow!!! that's amazing I couldn't image having to go through having cancer and the treatments must of been super scary and shitty. The fact that you beat cancer is epic what a great comeback I love hearing stories like these gives a loser like me some hope.

Back then, I'll skip like at least 2 days of school if I'm going on a date with a girl I'm seeing is really what I did and for the most parts, I knew I'll make up class work on the next following days. Nothing against classes I like nor hate, I was too busy going on dates with different girls.

Nope, not as a kid. I skipped plenty in college though, which was really dumb.

I skipped quite a bit in middle and high school would go to a friends house and all our friends would play smash brothers.

Yeah I did. But looking back, it was much easier being in school than being an adult & working. Took that for granted.

Nope, barely missed anything, maybe 3/4 days from age 5-18? Made great friends there (still my friends over two decades later) and used to love playing football at lunchtimes.

Missed a few lectures here and there at uni, but as my degree was Film Studies, a large portion was just watching a film (I'd just read the plot online instead).

No. I missed 2-3 days a quarter at most. I generally really liked school, mostly high school.

I only started to skip during my senior year when I was ahead in credits. I regretted it, though, because it dragged my GPA down.

Mostly just French class. Teacher and I did not get along. Only teacher I didn't get along with.

Unfortunately, school was just where my crew would meet in the morning and pool our money before deciding where we were getting shitty for the day. Most of us ended up graduating from continuation, opportunity or adult schools because of it. It's funny seeing all of us as parents now because our kids are nothing like we were. Having ineffective parents made us all better parents. We moved our son to a town of only 7000 people just to keep him from having as much fun as we did growing up in the city.

the idea of skipping class in college is really fucking stupid to me as you're usually PAYING for the privilege of being in those classes... just flush your money down the toilet then.

Not really no. My high school in particular had a policy that if you missed more than two days a term that you automatically had to take finals so there was incentive to at least show up.

Like others have mentioned though, I didn't particularly care for school either. Boring as hell most of the time, and overly stressful a lot too.

Nope, was straight as an arrow. Looking back, it would have been nice taking it easier because grades didn't mean much back then, but it did help me build good study habits over time.

Yeah, from 7th grade through 9th I cut more than I actually attended. I got in trouble over it but in hindsight it was all largely inconsequential.
