Things like Jacks, Pogs, and, Marbles?
I know Baseball cards were once crypto.
Seems kinda childish to me.

Hey my crypto losses are under $1000 for the first time in a long while. Hype!
I also have a whackton of DOGE (not included in the other losses) because I mined it back in 2013, but didn't cash it out when it was worth 10x what it is now. Womp. We'll see what happens 10 years from now.
Not actively trading or mining now and have no future plans to. It's too risky and I am not committed enough to manage that risk.
Nope. The economics of it was fishy to me right from the off; a currency backed by no tangible asset with value seemingly driven purely by demand. It was always going to be volatile, and someone was going to get burnt by it. I feel vindicated by my scepticism.
I'll stick to what I know and works for me (real estate), thanks.
Nope. I earn my money the old fashioned way. Hard work. The idea behind crypto is if more people buy it after you, you will eventually make money, there is no intrinsic value to it. Just like a pyramid scam or multi level marketing plans.
bought some out of curiosity a few years ago. still have it but if sold now it would be for a loss.
the weird vibe around it is strange and all the crypto bros hyping this coin or that token or whatever is no different than the bots hyping one penny stock over another on stock boards.
until it's backed by actual entities with power and people with guns the idea that they're valid forms of currency is pretty laughable.
Nope and even when Cyrptomining was a thing for PC, I knew better than to not trust such a waste of time and I prefer the old fashion way of making money, getting a good career that pays and hard work goes a long way. There are better ways of making money on a side but Crypto isn't one of them.
Nah. My bro in law made major bank off of it though. Retired from his six figure job in his early thirties.
I do buy crypto. It’s fun.
People take it too seriously. I feel like the people who spend more time criticizing/researching crypto yet they don’t buy in themselves are missing the point.
I have made quite a bit that I’ve been sitting on like a emergency savings fund on top of my income and other investments.
@kathaariancode: It takes a refined mind to really discern a new idea from a scam.
How is crypto a pyramid scheme?
I’d argue is it different than any interest, asset investment.
I could take a step back and say the stop market is also a scam, it’s clearly swayed by big interest and market influence. It’s also catered to favor a small more informed amount of the population.
I am so curious why crypto is painted as such a villain in peoples minds.
I have several stocks at this point, but crypto isn't one of them. I doubt it will ever be one of them to be honest.
No, it always seemed like a scam. Things that require little to no effort and just use confusing math--whether it's day trading, complex ways to game the stock market, or crypto--are just too good to be true.
I'm not inherently against capitalism, but this is the dark side of capitalism I like to fight against.

Yeah, retired from six-figure job.
I'm sure he had the capital to spend on either the currency or the mining setups.
Rich get richer. Rest of us? Meh.
