Ever meet someone from any gaming sites in person?

For all my years of bouncing from different game sites such as Game Revolution, IGN, GiantBomb, and even the mighty Gamespot. I have only met someone in person who happens to be from IGN which is rare and this was back 4 years ago. I have been on this site for years and still to this day, I have yet to meet someone in person from Gamespot. As the title says, if you have been to any game sites, I reckon you never meet someone on the same site or different game sites for that matter? What do you say OT?

I've met the former Playstation Access Member Hollie Bennitt. I got to play Mario Kart with her at her apartment in UK! Real cool lady!

I also talk to a certain fourm member here on a different chat room.

Went on Discord and heard users speak, was weird. Didn't like it.

I have never met a person off a gaming site in particular, but in general I have met my share of people off the internet.

There's definitely been cases of realization that my chemistry with certain people only work online, and then there's been other times where it was like meeting a long lost friend and transitioning from online to in-person was natural as can be.

How about we have a OT get together on Discord? Whadja think? :D

Or even still, Zoom!

We could have a window of time set aside and then we can face each other!

Back in the day when Gamespot was lively and there was a lot more cliques around here: many of us carried discourse off site and in whatever chatrooms that were the norm at the time.

It was fun, especially when among these groups were organized trolls that worked together to create shitpostings around here while laughing about it in an off-site chatroom. Those were fun days.

I should have mentioned I met a few moderators here through Zoom so if it happens to be just through Meet/Zoom that's also considered in person I suppose.

slightly embarrassed to admit I still use the TV even though its pretty ancient at this point, since I just don't have any compelling reason to upgrade.

I have met someone in person from the KH2.co.uk going back around 2005, finally met in person back in 2018 thanks to KupoCon ever since we chat on Facebook time to time and MSN when it was a thing. I might have met the odd people from GameSpot from past conventions very like KupoCon or AmeCon from what I can remember

Not from gaming sites and not in person, but I'm FB friends with some guys that I met playing games, so... Almost hehe. Traded some games and PC components. We do have this idea to meet in person, but I have a feeling that that would be weird, idk.

lol... games do bring out the temper now and then for both of us but very chill otherwise. Okay, maybe a small bit of road rage now and again for me that i'll admit to as well. just a bit though.

If you're looking for romance, it's not a reliable source to seek out - I'd recommend a good dating site. But if it's just friends: ehh, why not? I on the other hand have grown very antisocial these days so meeting people is the last thing I want.

@nepu7supastar7: I don't do dating sites and I'm more of an meet in person, the old school way if you can put it that way. Also, I wasn't looking for a date, just the meet and greet kind of thing as it's rare to see someone from a game site is what I was referring to.

I almost met Sajedene, I think only old-timers on here will remember her. She visited the brewery I used to work at but I wasn't working that day, and I think the topic of "where we are from" was being discussed on here and I said where I was from, she said "Oh I visited there the other weekend" (she lived like an hour south), and eventually it led to us finding out we almost met haha.

She left, along with many others, after the April Fool's Day Massacre.

I also have a sneaking suspicion @Stevo_the_gamer either lives or patrols in my neck of the woods (Sonoma or North Bay)...maybe I should start speeding and ask the cops if they're him.

Well, I'm in Illinois so I'm not sure I'm even in anyone's neighborhood either way. The reason why I mentioned dating is because most people who have asked about it were looking for that. Didn't mean to assume anything.

Thank you sir! Sonoma County definitely is a nice place, wife and I spent our anniversary up at the Timber Cove Inn near Fort Ross (plus we love Bodega Bay). We couldn't afford to live in that county though... Its main downside is being close to Vallejo and Fairfield (bad bad bad).

I still think an online get together would be awesome. If anybody is too self-conscious we could try Discord instead.

Believe I met one or two people who no longer visit this site. Been so long that I can barely remember any details of the encounters though...

There were plans to meet blackrytonite, if anyone remembers her, some unfortunate life stuff got in the way that kept that from happening.
