Man sues parents for destroying his porn collection

All $29,000 worth of porn is now destroyed and the owner of this property is suing those that are responsible for such a crime.

LOL sounds like he has an obsession with Porn. That can really cause problems for any individual and the fact he was told already to not bring Porn into the house from the get-go should have listen in the first place. In any case, his own fault and suing for some Porn crap is just stupid.

And I don't even like Porn at all! Not my thing and the first time I watch a porn vid, it was boring. Now if you excuse me, I am off to go watch some more Hentai :)

Parents did the right thing. It's embarrassing to own $29,000 worth of porn. The guy could have become a seller and sell physical copies for $$$.

If my parents toss away my Hentai vids collection, it's true I be upset but suing my own parents would never cross my mind and I don't believe in suing my own family members, no matter what the cost. I'm not gonna drag my family over so petty crap like hentai being destroyed.

Lucky for me, my parents gave me and my sisters more freedom what we can do during our childhood so hey, I had it made :)

They should have sold it off. 29k is a lot of money in collectibles. How in the heck they even destroyed it all sounds like a feat. I guess he shouldn't of let them deliver his valuables. That was a lot of boxes of porn to deliver. But they should have at least let him keep his sex toys.

@DEVILinIRON: That's probably what he paid for it, no way the parents would have gotten $29k for boxes of musty smelling sticky mags and worn out vhs tapes.

@vfighter: While it's true the guy probably didn't have things in the best condition, it's possible they were well kept. Believe it or not, there is a market for vintage and gently used porn. Still, thirteen plus boxes of porn is a lot to ask for one's parents to move.

I know it is all laughs and fun in here but $29,000 worth of x is $29,000. I doubt the number, but even if it was $10,000 that's not nothing.

That said, an embarrassing situation all around.

You guys that aren't taking this seriously don't realize how much a sticky situation this is for both ends. The parents are going to be balls deep in debt over the destruction of their son's porn. He is going to suck as many pennies out of their pocket as he can and it serves them right because what they did really blows. It's going to be a long court battle but I believe the son will penetrate through the justice system and he will triumphantly have a hard win.

How old is this "man" who was obsessed with pornography and needed to live with mom and dad? Call it a hunch but I think it's obvious why he was divorced.

Porn industry has certainly gripped over the minds of people. I mean can you imagine this kind of thing happening. Especially when it comes to your own parents.

It's tough to imagine, but if your parents destroyed $29,000 of something you own (or what you think is worth $29,000), deliberately... I think most people would sue. It's not something the average person can easily recover from, financially speaking. It's quite a thing to do to someone, let alone to your own child. I'm sure they thought it was the right thing to do... but this is why you don't go around destroying people's property. Even if it's your family's property. Maybe especially if it's your family's property. They could have talked about it.

Also we don't know what this porn collection is all about. But it could involve commissioned art, which can easily cost hundreds of dollars per piece. Also sex toys? XD Those can be expensive too, like I'm sure we all know.

I do think porn can be addictive and have a negative hold on people. But still... I don't think the best method of 'intervention' is to destroy someone's stuff. If you look up sites on how to deal with a son who is addicted to alcohol/drugs, the tips included usually don't mention something like "destroy his stash" for a reason.
