Looking for a new animated series to watch, was wondering if this show was any good?

I know I'm late to the party (not sure if there are still new seasons coming out) as the show is quite a few years old, but it looks pretty funny and edgy, but in a good way.

Anyway, just wondering what you all think.

It's a hood classic. Watch it. It's hilarious.

Would love new episodes, but I doubt it will happen

@mrbojangles25: Well..... I really liked it. I was the ONLY person I know who did, lol. I think if you go into it looking to enjoy the good and overlook the bad, you could really enjoy it. If you're the type of person who can let the negatives ruin your enjoyment of the good parts, you're going to have a bad time.

It can be cringey and, perhaps more importantly, abrasive.

I liked what I saw but my memory isn't what used to be. So I don't remember much, only that I liked it.

Very hood/ghetto animation show I really love watching back in the day. The series was good, the first season was the most grounded with nothin too wild, season 2 and 3 was where they had more bat-shit crazy, but still enjoyable. The 4th season I think was written by someone different, didn't use much of the previous season characters much, (some not at all), I think most of it's episodes were continuations, being a saga of sorts, all I can say for season 4 it's a hit or miss. But I liked it, but I can easily see why it gets a lot of hate, so just skip it and focus just season 1, 2, 3.

And here's another thing. If you played GTAV as Franklin only for the most part, it's like they took world from the Boondocks and put it in GTAV as if Franklin is from the Boondocks show cause this is what you'll get. Huey + Riley = Franklin is kinda like that for the character in GTAV.

@mrbojangles25: I think the Martin Luther King Jr. episode is a great test bed. It's subject matter is something everyone is familiar with so there are few concerns of lacking cultural grounding, it has the trademark abrasive controversial characteristics, and a good representation of the humor.

Sweet, thanks for the replies all.

Unfortunately it's not available for streaming on any of the five services I subscribe to (that's sad, in many ways) so I'll be skipping this one.

Definitely hope to check it out at some point.

Ahh bummer, yeah I got the first 2 seasons on DVD. My favorite character is Ed. Honestly the show has so many good characters but Ed gets me everytime.

It's a very smart show and has a lot of thought and details put into it. I found it interesting and entertaining.

@mrbojangles25: Yeah, if you want to watch it on streaming, it's only on Max (or formerly, HBO Max).

The series WAS going to be revived on Max for a two season, 24 episode run, but Sony Pictures Television (the show's original producers) have decided to shelve the project.

Hey thanks for pointing out it was on HBO, I actually have that :D

About four or so episodes in, really enjoying it. It can get to the point where it feels it's being edgy for the sake of being edgy, but otherwise it's pretty hilarious. The R.Kelly episode was hilarious, it's fun watching a lot of this stuff with the context of hindsight and history sort of, it's like a period piece of 2000's
