This certainly took me by surprise. I loved the Scream movies and the first Nightmare film as well. RIP.

Liked Scream and New Nightmare (1994). I guess that if he went to Hell then Satan has new capable writer/director.

WTF? What's all these out of no where unexpected deaths?

Well, Wes in peace. Was a fan of many of his movies like Pulse, some of the Elm Street movies, and Hill Have Eyes....

One of my all-time favorite directors. The film world has lost one of its greats.

It is sad to hear. Too bad the tasteless jokes about his death based on his career are inevitable.

Truly a huge loss for the horror genre. His films and characters are some of the best and my childhood would have never been the same (or as scary) without him. R.I.P.

RIP.

Wow, this sucks to say the least. He is definitely one of the biggest names in the horror film genre.

Rest in peace, Wes.

Wes Craven's a legend. He's invaded my dreams and turned them into nightmares with his creations. I'm sure that's the case for many of us. He's responsible for many great horror (and some shit) movies. Definitely a name I'll never forget.

The article I read claimed that he had brain cancer so it was hardly unexpected. But sad news none the less. Elm Street movies messed me up good when I was a kid.

Is this for reals ? R.I.P. to him if it is. I hope he made some final scary movies before his end of days. His name will always be remembered for scary movies.

While I'm not a big horror movie fan, I appreciate what he did for the genre. Rest in Peace :-(
