Re: Reading franchise

0-0-0 At 0-0-0

Reading 1- 1 Fulham

The first half non-eventful. Both teams were very sloppy on their passes and Reading was terrible with their scoring opportunies.
Fulham took the lead in the 67th minute on a goal by John. A teammate struck the ball just outside the top of the box and it hit off the upper right post. The ball then perfectly bounced right toward John and he tapped it in for a 1-0 lead. When it seemed like the game was lost for Reading, Bobby Convey saved the day. In the 90th minute he took a pass from a teammate, dribbled down the middle through 4 defenders, took it into the box and scored. He showed a great display of ball control and he was able to maintain sprinting speed and still was able to score.

Player of the match:

Bobby Convey: 1 Goal

Re: Reading franchise

Reading signs T. Spurr and G. Barnes!

Reading nation is very happy today with the signing of two very young, promising athletes. Both will be put into the lineup immediately so they can improve.

Re: Reading franchise

Reading defeats Wigan 3 - 2!

Readings new acquisition, Barnes, proved to be a brilliant find. The 18year old striker scored two goals in his debut, including the game winner in the 76th minute. He scored his first goal in the 19th minute on a and tapped it past the keeper into the right side of the net. Reading scored their next goal on a free kick by Harper in the 42nd minute, just outside the left box. The shot was a rocket at the upper left, which the keeper dove and got a hand on it but could not stop it from going in. The goal put Reading up 2-0.

Coming back from half, Wigan come out on fire. Emile Heskey scored two goals within 2 minutes of eachother, 54 and 56. The first goal was a , which he lobbed over top of a charging keeper. The next goal was a rebound after a teammate struck a rocket shot from outside of the 18. After those two goals, Wigan seemed as if they were in control. The game was a back and forth affair until Bobby Convey launched a beautiful lob lead pass to Barnes who just took it and ran. He used his excellent speed, one of the faster players in the game, and put a rocket past the keeper. Reading would hold onto the lead and take this one 3-2

Player of the match:

Barnes: 2 goals

Re: Reading franchise

Portsmouth defeats Reading 1-0

Very bad loss today. The Goalkeeper for Reading made a bonehead move as he tried to clear the ball and he kicked it off of LuaLua of Psmith. LuaLua then ran up and knocked the ball into the net. The lack of athleticism for the Reading really showed today as they could not create anything. The only chance was when in the 90th minute, Giles Barnes has a entering the box and a Psmith defender tackled him from behind. The referee must be an idiot because he didn't give a penalty shot or a red card, which is an outrage. But James Harper has a free kick opportunity outside the 18 and kicked it a little too hard over the crossbar. That's all she wrote.

Reading is now 1-1-1
