[ Debugging ] : 05.06.08

de·bug [dee-buhg] –verb
1. to detect and remove defects or errors from.

It doesn’t take a genius to realize that there is a problem with something. Making that problem heard is another story. Fortunately, this article is that other story...

The Bug: Time
Date: 05.06.08

To start off, I would like to mention that it’s been exactly four months since my last Debugging article. I would like to apologize for the fact that I haven’t been actively writing for this site as I proposed I would when I applied for a writer’s position here at Sportsgamer. I would also like to apologize for the shameless plugs that will appear in the next paragraph as I try to hopelessly explain my writing hiatus.

Shortly after receiving this position here, I unexpectedly received a staff position over at ANOTHER GAMING SITE I am actively involved at. Also, I came up with a story idea and wrote a 5-part short story that can be found HERE. I’ve also been busy trying to finish up my senior year of high school and deciding which college I want to continue my studies at. I would also like to blame tennis season and my part-time job as reasons why I haven’t written here. However, when it’s all said and done, the reason why I haven’t put my words to internet paper is the fact that I haven’t managed my time accordingly to accommodate that.

That brings me to this article’s featured problem: time. Time never seems to want to go your way. It’s the very idea that makes the saying “Time flies when you’re having fun” so true. It’s like when you’re anxiously awaiting for that final bell to ring at the end of the school day or waiting for the clock to hit five at the end of a busy work day. It’s like dealing with, what seems to be, ten months of harsh winter and only two months of a nice summer. It’s like the site of a beautiful sunrise when you never want this unforgettable night to end. It’s like how slowly the time clicks by when your beloved Buckeyes are getting trounced by the Gators on national television and how you just wish the pain would stop. And I’m not just talking about football here. It’s times like these that make you dislike time.

Fortunately, we can fix this. All we need is a Delorean, a functional Flux-Capacitor and a super-convenient lightning strike. Once we have our time machine, time wouldn’t be all that much of a problem anymore. It’s like TiVo, but better. And the best part is that if using a time machine ever turns out to be an experiment-turned-horribly-wrong, we could just go back in time and stop ourselves from ever obtaining a time machine in the first place.

But until then, time will just be a disease without an antidote. It will only be a corrupted file unable to be repaired with our current technology.

</ TIME >
< ERROR: ‘TIME’ ACCESS PERMISSION DENIED! >
DEBUGGING ... DONE.

If you have a 'bug' you would like to see in one of my "Debugging" articles, feel free to shoot me a pm.
