What say you fellow SW fans, do you agree with this list. I think it is pretty spot on from the games that I have played. I don't know about MK1, RE4, Dead Space nor Metroid though.

Xbox made a bold decision to surprise launch Hi-Fi Rush during an Xbox Showcase event at the start of the year, but the cartoony visuals and animations meant that Hi-Fi Rush was all anyone could think about once the event was over. While it might have been snubbed in the Game of the Year category almost across the board, no one can deny that it has the best visuals of the whole year.

Hi fi rush looks cool but it's a cel shaded game, there's nothing revolutionary about it. MK1 while impressive looks no better then MK11.

For Hi Fi maybe it's because of the game's style, that's why I suggested Dave the Diver because they really nailed it on combining retro pixel art and retro style 3D, and great cutscenes. It makes me wish Sayonara Umihara Kawase got it right this way.

Hi Fi Rush looks stellar. They truly captured and mastered the look they were trying to achieve.

1. Alan Wake 2 (current graphics king, no doubt)
2. Immortals of Aveum
3. CP2077: Phantom Liberty (path traced and yeah we'll count the dlc / re-release of the game in 2023)
4. Spiderman 2 (arguably the console graphics king If not Horizon Forbidden West)
5. The Last of Us (PC port which technically did release in 2023)
6. Robocop
7. Lords of the Fallen
8. Remnant II
9. Star Wars: Jedi Survivor
10. Dead Space Remake

Honourable mentions include Resident Evil 4 remake, Baldur's Gate 3 (the two best games of 2023), Armoured Core VI, Hogwarts Legacy and Mortal Kombat 1.

If we can't count TLOU PC port and CP2077 dlc as they are technically 2022 and 2020 games respectively then RE4R and BG3 get 9th and 10th place.

I swear if anyone says Robocop, Lords of the Fallen or Remnant II don't belong in the top 10 you have not seen them at maximum ray traced (lumen) settings in 4K. (the console versions of these games run medium settings 720/60 or 1080/30. These UE5 games are absolutely gorgeous and run extremely well with DLSS3.5

...I'm going to say it. Ubisoft Pretty much has this one in the bag I think. Avatar looks stellar visually. I mean every gen I always look for "That game". Yknow...the game that makes a landing, stomps around and shouts "NEXT GENS HERE MOFOS!!!". I think....I think Ubisoft just quietly did it.

I know! I know! It's Ubisoft. They haven't impressed in a long long time. I don't know what the game itself is like either...could be meh. But on the visuals front..... Ubisoft have dun gud. Real Gud. It's the type of game were, when you hear it's giving a 4080 a tough time, you initially think "What kind unoptimised piece of crap have Ubisoft made now!?" then you see it and....Yeah..fair enough. That looks properly stunning. It's very clear why it's giving very powerful hardware a very tough time.

But yeah: That's my looker of the year. Basically it just takes a giant dump on anything else released this gen in the tech department (except path traced Cyberpunk...which is more of a tech demo of things to come...maybe) and, artistically (depending on how you like the look of the Avatar Movies), they also absolutely delivered.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is an absolutely gorgeous looking game. It’s quite impressive. Watched a little bit of gameplay on it and it seems pretty good as well.

I think Lies of P looks pretty.
