What are your gaming plans for 2022?

I'm mostly planning on playing catch-up , and tackling 3 new AAA beasts - Horizon FW , God of War R , Elden Ring

• Persona 5 Strikers - try it at least (PS+)
• Acquire a PS5
• Horizon Forbidden West
• Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart
• Astro's Playroom
• Demon's Souls
• Returnal
• Iki Island/Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut
• Kena Bridge of Spirits
• God of War 2018 - (replay)
• God of War Ragnarok
• Elden Ring

I'm open to some other stuff , but I'm not sure for the rest of 2022 - GotG , Psychonauts 2 , SIFU , Dying Light 2 , Suicide Squad , Gotham Knights , etc. Only time will tell.

Is the 4000's series from nvidia coming out in 2022? Might as well wait for that since getting the 3000's is just impossible in Canada. Other than a gpu, Elden Ring, Stalker2, Starfield and GoW2 are the priority. These are the only guaranteed day one.

That new Pokémon, Kirby, Advance Wars, Splatoon 3, and some mother duckin Metroid Prime baby.

Nah, they are announcing the 3090 ti today and the 3080 and 3070 super later this year.

The 4000 series will be for next year and when gamers get their hands on them I suspect will be 2025.

Normally it's every two years.

3080 (2020) > 4080 (2022)

But I heard the 4000 series will come after a 3 year gap.

You're better off waiting for a 3080 or 3070 super if you want a new card. Fresh supply and all that.

Is AMD's next series for 2022 as well?

Ain't got any info on that. Intel is supposed to release their GPU soon, but it could have production problems too.

Nvidia is keeping their 3080 and 3070 super as an ace up their sleeves to get the wind out of Intel's sails.

This is all supposed to happen in Q1-Q2 this year.

Getting a SX, looking forward to new PS5 games (GoW, Horizon) and of course BotW2 for the Switch.

Play games, lots of them.

To farm NFTs breed microtransaction babies and to drink blood with Andrew Wilson and Bobby Kotick.

Eagerly waiting for Diablo 4. And trying to finish Cyberpunk and AC Valhalla in the meantime. If I find time, that is.

Damn. I dont have the time, I might end up losing sleep too.

I'd like to build my gaming PC, but not willing to pay stupid prices. Very likely to sell my PS5 and Series X at that point and go back to my roots as a PC gamer.

Game wise I'll see what comes and go from there.

My immediate focus is beating my backlog and picking up the legacy of thieves collection as I own lost legacy digital so the £10 upgrade will be a no brainer.

My plans is to just go ahead and grab the RTX 3070Ti and call it a day now that GPU supplies has been getting slightly better and with the holiday craze gone, now's the time to go upgrade my GPU cause there's really no telling how the RTX 40XX will fair. My advice, go find yourself an RTX 30XX and don't wait for 40XX. We don't know how it will do on launch day.

Edit: RTX 3090Ti sounds like a Titan to me.

I just caved in and bought a RTX3080 ti for the current prices. Nvidia postponing the 3080 super was the final drop for me.

I don't want to go into Dying Light 2 and Stalker 2 with an aging GTX1080ti.

No way am I buying from a scalper though and no way am I ever purchasing a second hand card, that could've been used for mining.

I'm wondering though: what should I do with my 1080ti. I can still net 800 for it easily. But it's kinda my backup card atm, and if my 3080 ti would brick I would be left with nothing.

Yes, please go buy 30XX series so there's more stock for us interested in the 40XX 😎

And why would you get the Ti? From what i remember seeing, the 3070ti is a ripoff compared to the standard 3070 or the 3060ti (performance per buck value).

@hardwenzen: Simply put I have the money and having a Ti on my side wouldn't hurt for me to have. And besides, Micro Center in my area has more 3070Ti shelved than the much higher classes RTX 3080/Ti/3090 as they're still hard to come by. I only game in 1440p/165hz so not like I'm pushing 4K nor will I game in 4K anytime soon.

Of course they have more of these on the shelves. People don't want them.

I don't know how you do it. To me, no matter if i have the money or not, its more of a matter of principle. If i know for a fact that a certain item gives you just 5% more performance and costs 1/4th more, it simply makes no sense, and i don't want said item. If i still go with it, it'll be on my mind and i'll feel dumb as hell for taking that route.

Right now the plan is to go through everything I wanna play on Gamepass. So far I've finished Halo: Infinite and the Medium. Now I've moved on to Ori and the will of the Wisp. After that I'm thinking Gears 5 :)

Buy an Xbox Series X and/or PlayStation 5 disc based system.

Thin out my backlog.

Buy more games.

The second and third statements will forever be at odds with each other. 😅

going to upgrade my mobo/CPU early this year, luckily already have a RTX3070 but its being bottlenecked by my 6700k in a lot of games right now. probably going to get a intel 12700k, was hoping to get a mobo with DDR5 ram but it seems too expensive and hard to get hold of to be a realistic goal.

Stalker 2 is at the top of my hype list but also looking forward to Dying Light 2, Elden Ring and I guess i'll throw Starfield in although i'd say i'm more curious about it than hyped at this point.

Be picking up Ready Or Not.

Bout' it as far as plans go.

Stay the f**k away from anything Sony, followed by Sh*tEnix, Bethesda Game Studios, Activision, Ubisoft, Take Two and EA (with the exception of Respawn).

I would like:

• Upgrade my PC.
• Get a Steam Deck
• Get a PS5 and GT7
• Monster Hunter Rise soon so play lots of that.
• Get back into developing that vertical slice of a game i was working on last year (need to move house and get a desk. working on it while using a KB+M and a lapdesk is painful.
• Try and finish some games from the backlog.

What will probably happen:

• Play lots of Monster Hunter Rise.

Finish a HUGE backlog of games instead of buying new ones for the time being (unless its a really REALLY good deal)

Also finish some "free" PS+ games I've been eager to beat like Mortal Shell and Kingdoms of amalur before my subscription expires in August. I bought my 1 year subscription for 30€ and thats the max I'm willing to pay for it. If sony doesnt make another deal like that one than I wont be renewing it

Complete the Halo: The Master Chief Collection, end the year in net positive (i.e. games completed vs new games added) on my backlog like last year.

That's about it.

The only games I'm mildly interested in are Hogwarts Legacy and Space Marine 2, and even those aren't sure things. This might be the first year I give up video games... except CE LANs.

That's sort of my plan too... finished Halo Infinite & Psychonauts 2, now moved on to Scarlet Nexus (plus dabbling in Forza Horizon 5 & GTA San Andreas DE). Plus a bunch of Switch games I'm looking forward to (ie. Bayonetta 3, Kirby, Sports Story, Advance Wars + unannounced games).

I am currently playing Darksiders 2, I started the first 4 hours playing it way back in September 2019 but just forgot about it and went to play other games. Now I am going finish it through. I have no idea what I will play next after it since there a bunch I am thinking about such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Death Stranding, Halo MCC, Devil May Cry HD collection and etc.
