Poll After activision/blizzard deal, which console interests you? (Poll) (122 votes)
Made this multiple choices so we can get a SW picture.

Generally PC, but when it comes to consoles it's Nintendo.
They make better games, generally don't give a shit about being a movie and have minimal DLC.
Of those though, Steam Deck. Got a big Steam lib so don't really need to purchase any games for it.
Xbox Series X, Switch, and PS5 interest me. All three have enough games that I want to play on them. Got a Switch already just need to get an XSX and PS5 next.
Had little to no interest in consoles or mobile gaming before, so as always my interest lie with PC.
With that said, I am slightly interested on a Switch or Steam Deck. @TheEroica and I had a little conversation the other day in another thread and the idea of a handheld has piqued my interest.
Ps5 is useless without cod. Who will even buy one without cod? 🤔 xbox all the way, then switch. Most of the ps5 games are movie games anyways. You watch 50%, you play 30%, the rest is filler.
Why is the steam deck a separate option? its a PC.
Anyway i dont think i have bought a game from Activision/Blizzard in about 10 years. they dont produce/publish a single game that interests me. Under duress, the only game i would buy from them now is Sekiro. I think Maybe Modern Warfare was the last game i bought for them. i can't think of anything else.
So who ever has them has literally 0 baring on my preference for gaming platform (Which is still PC).
Xbox even before the Activision deal. Having 2-3 exclusive games a year at $70 a pop isn’t reason enough for me to get a ps5.
I've always owned a ms console I don't play on pc. The Activision deal doesn't do much for me as I don't tend to play any of the cod games. I own a ps5 as my main with the series s for gamepass probably pick up an X down the line but enjoying both systems equally.
PC, even more enticing now since Gamepass keeps getting stronger.
Switch and Toilet Gaming should be the same category.

Feeling that call from within that there's more to this journey than the couch and a big TV? Get it brother....
With Activision or not, Sony has significantly more talent than MS.
That's funny! lol
Call me when MS creates a game on the level of gow2. Probably won't be a thing for the next five plus years.
I don't have a "current gen" system right now , but PlayStation has done a good job getting me the most interested and excited in the short term. I also have Gamefly so I can rent whatever retail games come out on PS5.
Shorter term (I already played Miles Morales and Sackboy)
The combination of Horizon Forbidden West coming so soon and having 4 other games I want to play make me want a PS5 now. I also want to play Iki Island on PS5 at some point. I haven't played that yet. Ragnarok is coming too!
Longer term -
I have a good amount of confidence in PlayStation Studios developing/publishing if history is anything to go by. There should be enough other things to play - killer , filler , and stuff in the middle ranges of those.
Microsoft has Hellblade 2 possibly around the 2nd-Tier range in the short term and it doesn't seem that is close to release yet (Maybe 2023?) , but what they showed recently didn't get me excited yet. Everything else out now or soonish are more lower-tier filler , lower interest , or no interest stuff.
I'm not a fan of Bugthesda wrpgs and when I see possible Bethesda clones I get turned off a bit too. I'm trying to keep an open mind , but so many wrpgs I either skip or are overrated when do I try them. Not a big fan of the genre I guess. Shooters are fine , but are typically more filler than killer. I really don't have a good feel on what some of their farther out games are going to be like in my mind - Perfect Dark , Fable , etc. Only time will tell.
I mean, PC gets everything from the MS first party, as well as increasing amounts of PS "exclusives" after a delay. If it weren't for GPU shortages i'd say the PC would have won SW and we could shut down this forum.
if I were to get a console today it'd be the PS5 but i'm holding off on that to see how things shake out with Sony releasing stuff on PC
PC.That's easy. It gets all of XBOX's games from these acquisitions on top of also getting the better version of Sony's best exclusives. So it gets the most video games and the best version of most of them. No brainer.
I mean it won last gen with 130 more AAA/AA games than the second best system here at GS. It has by far the best online with the most active games and biggest communities and most genres. It's the only option if you want serious competitive gaming or are into esports. It has the best gfx and performance. It has the most features. No brainer.
Only issue is the price, and that's due to a once in a century pandemic.....so if you want to gloat about something that has killed millions so you can have a temporary win over a piece of plastic you do you.

To give the other systems a chance. And they still got stomped.
I'm a playstation guy but I gotta admit if all activision/blizzard/bethesda games are gonna be on gamepass I'm gonna have to get a series x or gaming pc. Especially since I don't really have to pay for gamepass since my buddy gave me his old Xbox and I don't really have to pay for gamepass since he just logs on to his account on my Xbox.
PC is all I've needed since consoles became poor mans PC. I liked the cartridge-based consoles EXCEPT SCREW U SEGA I BOUGHT CD AND 32X AND SATURN AND U. FUCKED. ME.
Was done with consoles after that. On PC I never have to worry about my platform being dumped prematurely. Or at all, actually.

Because this isn’t a biased post at all.
Stupid poll is stupid but considering the source, par for the course. lol
Only two of the six listed are actual consoles. :P
Despite this being system and fanboy wars, realistically I'm happy to own any of the 3 main consoles :)
