Dreamcast is the William Wallace of consoles, doomed from the start, but tried it's darnest any-ways.
Sony is just a movie machine for closet console users who secretly want to be PC users.
Playstation 2. It had more games only on that console than any other, sold more than both more powerful competitors on the market, and was the 1st console to standardize DVDs on console. The console pioneered brands and franchises that are still around today, and made gaming mainstream.
I still have mine and play it often.
Nintendo Switch. Things that I like about the Switch are its small form; its unique hybrid nature allowing it be played as a handheld, a TV console when docked, and a table-top console, and the small game cards. Sure, the resolution and graphics are not as great as the PS4 or Xbox1; but I can play all of my games anywhere-I have played Nintendo Switch at home, at the restaurant, at work, in the park, and on vacation. Switch has my favorite games: Gear Club Unlimited 2, Legendary Fishing, Namco Museum Arcade Pac, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Nine Parchments, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Rayman Legends Definitive Edition, Splatoon 2, Super Mario Maker 2, and Super Smash Bros. Ulitimate.
PS4 is a solid console, but it isn't the best ever. The hardware was mediocre from the beginning. The SNES is the best console ever, followed by the Sega Genesis. As for modern consoles I would choose the xbox 360 or xbox one x. The latter just lacks more exclusives, but it is a damn fine console for third party and BC.
If we dont look at redone games PS2 is the king... but PS4 is the remaster/remake gen, which makes it the best ever. For online games PS3 was the best.
Oooh, tough question and probably the worst place for it. My first console was the NES, and I own almost every console since and predating it. I give it to SNES but that is no easy conclusion to come to.
Runners up in no specific order
*Panasonic Q
*60GB PS3
*NES
*PS4 Ps4 Pro w/ PSVR
*Pokémon Let's Go Switch
*Light Yellow PS2
*Specific I know, and list would be much longer but I didn't include handhelds other than switch cuz I don't consider them "consoles" *
PS4>PS3>PS2>PS1>SNES.
I know lots of Nintendo fanboys love to overrate the SNES, but it needs to stop.
The SNES can’t be the best console of all time for the simple fact it only excels in a handful of game genres.
2D RPG’s, Platformers, Beat em Ups, Fighting...and well...that covers most of them.
Whereas modern consoles offer much more games in a variety of genres. There is tons of AAA games in everything today.
I like to live life without the nostalgia glasses. It’s not 1991 anymore.
